Britain has never invaded France, I think you mean England. But even then. German states and the Holy Roman Empire invaded France far more times then England ever did. Also. Bless your dad. He would have been a very young man during that war. My grandfather was also at Dunkirk, a Sgt in the Royal Artillery. He was promoted to glory 20 years ago. He was also sad about what Britain has become but not because of its politics, but because of its loudness, its faster pace of life and he missed the quieter times. I think a lot of very senior people feel this way. Because there was crime, there was the death penalty back in those days! There were serial killers, and "wayward" kids... but fewer.

But the facts don't suit your agenda, do they ....

Sweetheart, millions of soldiers from the Empire of India volunteered to fight out of genuine patriotism. Despite what the popular culture would have you believe, British rule in India generally wasn’t forced, but was actually invited by the local, traditional rulers of the Indian Princely states, who rationally looked at what the British could offer them and their subjects and -acting in their own rational self interest- willingly, legally, and legitimately gave Britain power through treaties. So, was British Imperialism valid? It depends; do you think any international agreements are valid?

Les is a living testament to what this country once was. I was brought up in the 60s and even though the war was over we still had discipline and a clip round the ear from an adult on the street if we did or said anything wrong, and we didn't tell our parents because we'd get another one. My father once said "we sleep well knowing that we have an army to protect us" Discipline is much needed with the kids today, most I'd say. However we do live in a different society now, kids are bored or indoctrinated, parents aren't allowed to parent and our education has failed, the government don't care about this country and we've given it away to woke, uneducated, stupid people with no moral compass. There's no direction, leadership or commitment from this government and it's going to get worse. These young soilders that died gave their tomorrow for our freedom today and deserve the upmost respect. Destroying our memorials is unforgivable! Yet here we are in a society that doesn't care, where was the outcry, where were our supposedly government politicians condoning this, where were our police!! No where to be found. I'm voting Reform UK, I want my country back! Thank you Les and to that amazing young man.

The sad part is that all my kids need to learn about Dhivali, getting trips to Mosques, learning tons of foreign celebrations and religions. Is that what school is all about in nowadays? There are hundreds of important things which should be taught in school like respect to older people, their property, learning life saving skills (tidying up, healthy eating, visiting nature and looking after it, making good use of your money even small but that helps a lot later on). I could go on and on. Instead of spending time on vital useful skills and learning real life situations they are forced to learn about woke stuff and all foreign customs and beliefs. Sorry but no, they can learn about it if they decide to when they grow up. School is something else. Also in Europe there is hardly any talking about how the previous generations dealt with war, their mistakes and what made them great. Instead of learning our old days and learning from mistakes we are told all about how amazing all foreign stuff is. How is that possible that all these people from these amazing foreign places we need to know all about them, decided to come to UK and live here instead of there? I mean, not now, talking about 20 or 30 years ago. Today, yes the boats are still coming for freebies but the country itself has degraded so low that many cities and towns look worse than Poland 10 years ago when they were still developing. I just visited so cold Eastern Europe on a mountain trip and how I was lovely surprised how beautiful the roads, houses and town markets were. The cleanliness was visible left and right. When I came to UK and landed in Luton I thought I came back to some 3rd world country and immediately thought to myself I have to consider if I want to stay here for next decade or so. If things won't change I would take my business to Eastern Europe and will become only a visitor here just to look after the businesses left behind. What a sad prospect.
