honestly I feel like Justin deserves to be here because he truly understood the real meaning behind the film and on top of that read the book!
@McD-j5r2 ай бұрын
I don't think he could be there since he contracted PR crisis coaching to talk about Blake to the public-the same PR used by Johnny Depp against Amber Heard. He can't smooth this out nor return Blake's respectful image. His non-gentleman is making all unconscious people who live in polarity scapegoat her. It's very unforgiving. I am so glad she is not getting involved as much in giving this kind info to the public and dimming the focus on the movie. This interview is perfect because it does not mention the domestic struggles of the professionals as people but instead focuses on the movie. The movie has its value but doesn't have much depth. It is about domestic violence. I like Blake’s vision of her character, not characterizing her as a victim but as a human being who can make better choices. This saves the character from being too flat and values the same experiences as women who made a wrong choice to get involved with a violent man and could not sink into feeling like a victim. This is the divine part of the human being: to choose in life what they want to be.

@@McD-j5r I respect your opinion and I do kinda understand what you mean but at the end of the day as someone who has gone through it first hand I would like to hear what a women has to say about it and in depth not surface level responses. I’m not saying to always be talking about it but ofc to have a balance. We will never know what happened between them but from what I see it’s not being handled in a way that’s respectable towards the film. Even if it may seem like they are both in their own world I don’t like to admit it but it made me feel like my situation was just so surface based because people now may think it’s not as deep as it truly is and want to maybe think that that’s “love” or it’s not that “hard” to leave when it truly is the most difficult thing. I can agree the movie didn’t go in super deep like the book did because I did read it and I to like how Blake is saying how the character is strong and has her own life in other words not just what she went through. But my point is I would really appreciate and respect her even more if she had just spoken more in depth about it in at least an interview and that Justin could’ve directed it himself a bit more instead of taking his vision away , but if he did I believe it would’ve been more like the book since he read it before filming. I also want to clarify no I don’t dislike her but I think there could’ve been someone a little better for this role respectfully.

The producer and director (Blake, also a producer) seem to exude an air of elegance. Still, he prioritizes his ego and winning since he contracted a PR to inform the public about his side of history. Blake is not attacking his image and prefers the noble path of bringing out of it and not contracting a specialist PR in crisis to return his gesture. Good for her. I like him too. Besides, I don’t get these feuds between professional adults who end up obfuscating their work with subjects that should be very private. The public doesn’t like these private emotional reactions exposed, which detriments what the public is focused on: the movie. I appreciated the interview discussing the movie and Blake's approach to not overly romanticizing the victimization of women in abusive relationships but instead acknowledging it as an experience from which one can choose to escape. It highlights women's ability to embark on their hero's journey and make positive choices whenever they wish. I feel sorry for Blake being so defamed in public by a non-gentleman and I didn't see her denigrating him in return. This video was very insightful, classy and I appreciated the discussion focused on the film. Thank you!

Aside from the fact that Blake doesn’t acknowledge that the movie revolves around domestic violence, you almost get the feeling that she never read the book 😂. I think that she sees Lilly’s character as herself and that’s why she characterises her as both „feminine and masculine“ when in reality she’s just talking about herself. On the contrary, Lilly’s demeanour and style is very feminine and not grunge like in the movie… Blake used this movie to promote herself and her husband 😕

😬😬 yikes. The self-glorification, so condescending to her costar who is a qualified actress “aww, this is her first movie…”. Terribly unprofessional.

I don't understand why the actor that was in role of the young Atlas didn't have been considered by the journalis ...I didn't appreciate at all..

I'm really here to understand what the drama is about, I dont get it. The critisism has gone too far. The questions are clearly to Blake as Lilly. Its the kind of question, not Blake making it over her.

Read the book I would not have cast her in this, for starters, she's too old.

The men are also too old, why don't you talk about them?

Look into other interviews. They said they made all characters older in the movie compared to the book. So Blake is not playing 19 old Lily.

Colleen aged the characters up for the movie. She wrote it when she was young and didn’t realize early 20’s was not realistic for jobs like neurosurgery, she’s confirmed this in multiple interviews.

You were told old for that character, Lively. Well, maybe not your brain but your face definitely was.
