The fact that people don’t get why they’re not focusing on the DV aspect of it is wild to me. It’s like they’ve never seen a movie or press run before. It’s not being presented like a romcom. The trailer doesn’t give that in the slightest. Anyone who thinks so is a moron in my opinion. The reason they’re not labeling it as a DV movie is 1) Most people would likely not go see it. 2) They’d make up in their minds how it was gonna play out and miss out. 2) it’s about more than the violence Lilly experiences and witnesses but the resiliency she has within herself to not let it become her child’s future. 3) It’s so that those who are in that situation (who are often in denial and want to bury their head in the sand) will hopefully go see it and be able to see themselves in Lilly enough to know they have what it takes to get out. This is literally simple psychology but it’s like people can’t get passed their own butt hurt egos to stop and think. The fact that the cast and author not mentioning the director as if it’s his book is wild. Yes he directed it and fought for it. Yay. He did what creatives do. But it’s not a disregard of him as a person. Unless you were on set or part of the marketing team you don’t know why that is. It could either be a very valid and/or calculated decision for the sake of the film.

It only makes sense if you read the book honestly. I think that's why the trailer is a bit all over the place because they might want more people to read the book before watching the movie.

Interesting her reaction here when the interviewer has seen footage of her pretending to be intimacy coordinator. Watching Blake dominate so much of all her interviews with others, I kind of wonder about some of her claims. Idk.

Blake finally had the intimacy coordinator on set during the second half of filming (long break in production due to the SAG strike) which is when she aired everything with Justin's studio and only returned to filming once it was set in stone that they would finally abide by the guidelines for her and her cast members (who she also spoke on behalf of as they also experienced abuse and harassment)

Did you read the whole thing? They didn’t have any intimacy co-ordinator, which would have been needed since the lines were repeatedly blurred on set. After they returned to filming after the writers strike Blake made demands to fix the shit show of inappropriateness and awful behaviour and one of those demands was having an I intimacy co-ordinator. She says in this interview that it should not be happening that an actor has to be their own intimacy co-ordinator, especially when re-enacting sexual violence!

Brandon nailed it at 3:30 when he said "I couldn't tell ya... we didn't really..." in response to the Interviewer's question about the chemistry between Lily and Atlas. Coz there was hardly any and Brandon is probably like I had such a minor part and what the hell am I even doing over here when it should be Justin here answering questions about the chemistry between Lily and Ryle that is the centerpiece of the film. And Ryle's character being the most complex one that Justine portrayed so convincingly. And then BL trying to put words in his mouth...I mean.

Didn’t really care to see this movie until the whole drama between BL and JB came up. Saw it and honestly… it was more of a romantic comedy with little domestic violence present. This movie is so overrated and not the movie to bring awareness to DV. But then… we all only saw Blake’s version. We need to see Justin’s version to probably feel its depth. Blake was too busy trying to style the character Lily in designer clothes and making the movie all about her.
