Who says you can’t make a full length version from the Blankety Blank theme music? Here it is, courtesy of Cut & Thrust. It’s “Blanking” good!
Blankety Blank first appeared on British TV (BBC) in 1979. This game show was known for its terrible prizes and constant mocking of the celebrity panel and host, Terry Wogan.
The Blankety Blank theme music - by Ronnie Hazlehurst - is one of those tunes that gets into your head and goes round and round, but I’m sure British TV audiences up and down the country were singing along (which wasn’t difficult, as there are only two words in the song… “Blankety” and “Blank”)!
As a child, I would watch every week and one show in particular stands out in my mind - the show when Kenny Everett broke Terry Wogan’s wand microphone!
I hope this remix is a winner with you, but if not, I would have liked to have awarded you with a Blankety Bank chequebook and pen as a consolation prize but, alas, they are very rare (and quite valuable, I believe!)
The music used in this remix is taken from two different series - the high pitched synthesizer intro is from 1979 and the main song is from 1989.
No copyright infringement intended. This is a tribute remix born out of my love for the show and lots of childhood memories. Copyright belongs to BBC TV/Ronnie Hazlehurst.
