AFTER WATCHING THIS YOU ARE MY FAVORITE METAL DRUMMER. PERIOD.

Correct on the kick trigger. Snare drum that I recorded with was a 1 inch thick 7x14 desert ironwood shell that sat in a Pearl Free Floater Chassis. Evans HD dry top, Evans 300 Hazy bottom. Cheers and thanks for watching!

Nick, Unearth has always had solid talented drummers, but your the missing link they needed to transcend to the next level. I am looking forward to seeing what you do on the next Unearth album. Your creativity and technical ability will definitely help the band bring a different and unique element to their sound in the coming years!

@eliminshrintar Thanks for the kind words man, aspire to whatever works for you! CTW has not released this new material its available in these videos only for the time being. The older stuff is available online somewhere. Where that is, I dont know.

In the recording it was a Zildjian Earth Ride. I now use a Paiste Rude 20" Power Ride or a Paiste Alpha 20" Metal Ride. Cheers, Nick

Tama makes an SLP 13 ply 7x13 shell. Its what I use at home in the studio and it sounds great. The price isnt bad either. It will get you that high end pop while still maintaining the low end beef. Plays really well too. Cheers, Nick

@grandolddrummer I appreciate the support brodie! Making these videos forces a drummer to become more consistent for sure. Having one camera and putting a video with multiple takes together only improves your ability to play accurately. But believe me after shooting all this footage in one morning before work makes you feel like a pile of steaming hog shit. Then I wish I had more cameras.

You are quite simply one of the most well-rounded and technical drummers I've seen. Absolutely amazing work. Is it weird that I aspire to reach YOUR level of playing instead of all the big names out there on major tours?? Also quick question. Where can we get CTW albums at? I've only made a lighthearted search so far but have turned up nothing.

@blastbeatshaman Well your skills are what works for me. Your control is is both expressive AND machinelike. Can't figure out how you do it. You're pretty much a shiny golden god in my eyes. Been following ya for years now and you NEVER disappoint. Glowing Fanboy comments aside, I kept looking and the only thing I've been able to find is illegally downloading the first album released, which if I'm not mistaken is before you joined the lineup. Nothing else. Can't even pay to have. Sadness...

Oh pleeeeeease you really have to use a progressive and non-anamorphic export-/output-profile for the final video in finalcut. i can't give any details since i don't really know finalcut, but that would be great :D. BUT: great drumming! :)

your snare sounds like a fuckin cannon....I want a nice deep sounding pop from my snare, but I find that metal shells tend to have over tones that I really don't like. So I'm looking into possibly a 7 or even an 8 by 14 Maple or Birch shell...but I'm still kinda confused on which direction to go...or if I'm even on the right direction..
