A rundown of my mods to the 2021 CRF300L. Lucy has slowly taken shape and is now just about where I want her. She performs well, handles well, and Looks good :-)
I think these are the best modifications for performance without reducing economy and engine life.

Good video John. I've got the Acerbis skid plate sitting on my bench , just haven't put it on yet. The bike still has the aluminum one that came on it. Thinking about the Acerbis fuel tank , but not sure if I really need the extra capacity or not. I did buy a front fender for a CRF 250r . it eliminates the beak look at the forks. Thinking about a Seat Concepts seat , pretty expensive .As far as the guy that pulled out in front of you ... I hate when that happens !!!!!!!!!!

Hey Eric, I think you'll like the Acerbis plate. Quite silent and slippy over the rocks. I should have a look at the fender you mention, though I kind of like the design of the stocker. It follows and mirrors other lines on the bike. Yup, those seats are expensive. I don't mind the stock seat at all. The 250L seat was, I think, less comfortable. I changed that one for a Spiral Step Seat.

Great mods! Could u comment a bit on how these power mods have improved highway performance compared to stock? Many people with the stock bike say u can cruise at 70mph for a long trip no problem. Would u say it could now cruise at 75? Could it somewhat easily go from 75 to 85 in a situation if u need to?

Cruising at 75 mph is fine. Accelerating at that speed to 85 is not the bike's forte, but it will do it reasonably well; I would say better somewaht than before the mods, though I'm uncertain just how much better. That said, I had the bike up to almost 90 mph when bone stock. The way I've got it tuned feels like most of the gains are in the low to upper mid range. That's my butt-dyno impression and it's where I wanted to better response.

@@Scoottoots cool, that makes sense from what ive been reading. If u want to boost the top end, seems like u gotta go with the 550 performance cam and stage 2 tune. I have a feeling that your mods plus the performance cam and tune would be good enough for my lightweight adv purposes, wont need to go big bore.

If you were to get more dirt worthy tires, which kind would you get?

I would likely get Kenda K270's. I've used them before and they are an excellent 50/50 tire at a great price.

@Scoottoots I have the k270 rear tire paired with an IRC TR8. No complaints with the rear, it has performed very well. Even the IRC has been good but developed a real bad scallop early on. I heard the k270 front wasn't good so that's why I went with the IRC. However, the next time I need to get a new front tire, I'll try out the k270.

@@michaelrodrigues8142 The K270 front tire does scallop a fair bit after some time depending on how aggressively you use the front brake, but it seems to hold the performance and it lasts quite well. I found the front K270 tracks nicely on dirt, especially noticeable on gravel forest roads as compared to the stock IRC front tire.

I moded my Honda CRF300L to KTM 790 Adventure :). Honda is a nice bike, but it needs quite a lot upgrades (suspension, power).

Haha, that's quite the mod ;-) A completely different type of motorcycle. I have a 90 hp bike already, so I enjoy the simplicity and lower power of the 300L as a compliment to that. Plus, it's fun to get what can out of something limited. Different strokes :-)
