I've only ever played the GBC version as a kid, so I came to listen to the real thing and my mind is blown....I mean, I was finding a way to jam to those primitive versions back then, so you can imagine how these sound......Epic! It's like I'm seeing clearly for the first time but in an audio sense. The extremely solid bones of the originals carry over enough that my favorites from GBC still remain my favorites here, just soooo much better (barbarian, warlock) the ones I wasn't so fond of make more sense now and are awesome (Sorcerer and knight). So glad I looked this up

Never played this a lot compared to later games, but I love the medieval sound, and I must say that "Sorceress" faction themes are always among the most beautiful (eponymous themes in the first two games, then Rampart in HOMM III, and Nature/Preserve in HOMM IV). I also really like the Dead Can Dance sounding "Battle Theme 04".

its enjoyable (I did grow up playing it though) mostly the same game, units dont upgrade if i remember correctly.
@KleederMusic4 жыл бұрын
"mostly the same game" as part 2 is only true on the first look imo. homm1 is a lot more unbalanced but also a lot more interesting because of it imo. you also have smaller fight grids and a different way of how magic spells work, which makes battling very different to the sequel. since theres not marketplace, resource management is a lot harder and you really have to pay attention to your mines. i also think the graphics are cuter and more detailed, just look at how the castle screens really show the creatures running around. and the music is awesome as well (but since youre checking a soundtrack video, i dont think thats news to you hehe) disclaimer: i grew up with homm1 and its one of my three favorite games of all time, im speaking threw a big nostalgia-wall here hehe
@Fuchsia_tude3 жыл бұрын
I played it first, and just playing the demo alone was enough to get me hooked on the series. II and III took the gameplay and really made it great, though. It's kinda boring since there's no real plot or story, just a series of disconnected scenarios basically. It's the Civilization I of the series I guess. Some of the graphics and music tracks are iconic, but II's and III's are much stronger overall, I'd say. Plus obviously Necromancer is the best town and it's not in I
