This band is pretty much the seed of hope for the entirety of rock/metal to have a place in the mainstream music industry of Korea. Anything beyond pop rock pretty much doesn’t exist or get played anywhere else other than some niche tiny corners. From what I hear, there used to be some in the 80s but it all died away with Kpop taking over around the 2000s. Many decently big rock bands can hardly be called even pop rock now coz they had to tone down their sound just to survive. Its a rather gloomy situation for rock there. So in regards to these ladies I just hope they can stay as rock bands, and looks and production wise be good enough to compete with pop groups. They pretty much don’t have a choice as no matter how good their rock music is, it still won’t be enough unless they blow up outside. Hopefully they’ll have the pioneer’s luck and surprise factor as the representative all female Korean rock band. If they can succeed as a proper rock band then it’d definitely open the way for many more to get signed as far as the labels go.

I've been living in Korea for over 3 years and yeah Rock music is basically dead here.. I feel like most Koreans ( at least the people I know and considering charts etc) mainly enjoy ballads, hip hop, and some Kpop.. that's basically it. As a rock music fan, it's really nice to see that at least some Korean groups are trying to do rock, even if it's pretty "soft" and public friendly / pop music-oriented... even though I prefer more "intense" stuff like BM.. but I guess Korea isn't ready for that yet :D

@@nadtrzw7788 Yeah it really is a good start. When I first heard of their debut I was honestly very excited as I felt they might have all the right elements to truly open a crack in this Kpop dominated market as a Rock band, even if by a little. I’ve been following quite a few Korean artists over the years, with my fav all time vocalist So Hyang also being from there. Then there are those of the newer generation, the likes of Ailee, Lee hi, Sonnet Son, to name a few. It’s basically flooding with amazing vocalists maybe coz of how popular pop ballads are and the presence of many talent shows related to singing. So it has always been a wish of mine to see some of these vocal powerhouses flow into the Rock scene too as I’m more into Rock than other genres. Let’s hope Rolling Quartz can eventually carve a firm foothold for themselves.

I think this band is gonna go places, over time, much like Band-Maid. This gives me early B-M vibes, as in its currently not the best in the genre they're in, but the more they put out, they get closer and closer to being one of the best as a whole. I'm gonna keep following them as I'm really interested to see where their journey is gonna take them.

This is a great song, but the greatest thing about it is that they all wrote this song together. Each member wrote their own section since they know their instruments best. That is something you just don't see any more - not since the supergroups of the 70's and 80's.

Kudos, Champ, for getting into this band so early on. I've become a big fan since I discovered them around end of '22. Yes, they have the look and the cuteness that is such a big part of the equation, but IMHO there is a strong core there - they have the charisma and can play! Jayoung's vocals cut like a knife. I think we can expect great things out of them. Hope to see you at a '23 show!

It is refreshing to see that there is a club circuit scene in Korea fostering REAL bands. This band is a lucky fusion of "Rolling Girlz" and "Rose Quartz" into a solid, well rounded, and yes gorgeous girl rock band. You can feel the punk influence but it's backed with a bit more skill on the guitars, granted not Saki or Hazuki level skill, at least not that I have seen thus far but enough not to drop them into chord smashing punk. I love the texture of Jayoung's vocals as well as her cadence and overall tone of her voice, she is a welcome pleasure to listen to. Yeongeun is a powerhouse on her kit backing the group and driving the band. I think Arem is the secrete sauce that makes it all come together on that bass, she has skills. The fact that they came together organically, not a creation of the big 3 who decided who they would be, how they would sound, what their vocals would say, remember they've only been together about as long as Nemophila and if I'm honest would be a very good pairing on a venue together. The fact that all of the members participated in the production of the songs, including lyrics, composition, and arrangement shows they are active participants in the development of their sound and identity. They are a solid rock band and I'll be watching to see how they develop, they have this producer as a fan...

This band has a style similar to most J-rock bands. Band Maid doesn't have much of Japanese J-rock because they are more fused hard rock and it is not common in Japan. You have to know more about J-rock to understand it..... PD: this band has played in shows with other J-rock bands like Brats

Since they aren't with a company, their debut album will only have Blaze and Blaze Instrumental on it. So no new music for now. With all the positive feedback they are getting, they were even able to do an interview for a popular music news outlet thingy. So they are growing more and more! Also you can pre-order their album currently if you are interested in supporting them!

First time listening to this band ... very interesting... I always like the punk vibe, always. Normally it's something that stays there, even when the music changes, takes new directions after a few years, it's always something that "bleeds out" every now and then - look at Band-Maid, first album has that Punk feel and they kept it throughout their albums. These girls sound good, really good... In a completely different vibe (but having that Punk feel along with Pop) I think you would like to check Silent Siren with MISA's little friend Aina being a awesome bass player as well (and probably a nice beer mate)... SaiSai are a really really addictive band, same ages as Band-Maid but all about Pop, Rock, Punky, happy feel to it all... once I got used to Suu's voice, I got completely hooked... here's a (heavier than usual) live performance kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKGtmpqMoN93jMk ...really worth checking out... or check "Hero" for a speed-punk style... Cheeers, thumbs up!

Not bad at all, the singer reminds me a lot of Julie from Hydrogyn.... anyway these girls are still light years away from Japanese bands such as Doll$Boxx or Mary's Blood. Watching them live (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3iYiJWur7-pp8k) they sound a bit loose and weak (nothing that many hours of practice cannot solve) Finding good hard rock or metal bands in a country where K-pop is a quasi-state corporation that stifles other genres is not an easy task. If these girls really want to grow up they should consider moving to the States, Japan or Europe.
