The comments for this video make my head hurt. FFS, a kennel is not abuse. Ask any real dog owner or trainer. When my dog was a puppy, we kennel trained her and she loved her kennel because she associated it with getting treats. One time I said was talking about our kennel with my mom and then I heard my dog run like a bat outta hell and jump in her kennel. We weren't even going to put her in it! We no longer keep her in it but it's a great training tool

I am a dog trainer and I can tell you that it's not abusive, but it ruins their joints and spirit. There's no need to keep a dog penned up after a year old and it shouldn't take a dog that long. My three German Shepherds were done with the kennel by the time they were 8 months old. Kennels can act as a safe place for a dog, but there's no reason to ever actually lock them in unless you don't know what you're doing.

My dog use to make similar noises. A lot of times when I was talking to her and a lot of times when I scratch her behind the ears, rub her belly....that sound is not a dog in distress...for the people thinking these people are abusing this dog...some dogs are a bit more vocal than others. When dogs are in distress, they have their tails between their legs and head down, skittish....Blaze on the other hand seems to be a happy and well loved dog.

All of the people questioning why the dog has to go into the kennel clearly do not see how kind the owner is towards his dog and most likely do not own a dog. Also, I don't understand why its so hard to understand why a dog would have to go into a kennel. Here are some examples: 1. If we are traveling in the car. 2. If people come over and they are afraid of big dogs (We put him in there so he does not jump on them and we can calmly introduce them). 3. If my dog has been a little bit naughty and needs a 5 minutes time out to calm down (because he works himself up easily). 4. If he is dirty and I can't get him into a bath right away, I will put him in the kennel until I have the bath going and then bring him straight upstairs. 5. If he is sleepy he will go into the kennel on his own terms and take a nap. Kennels are not a bad thing, really. :-) And I have a Great Dane-Lab mix. Please don't mistake a snarky dog complaining for animal abuse.

Oleander Pink My dogs go in the kennel all the time on their own. It’s like a safe, calm place for them when they’re tired, don’t want to play, or just want alone time. It’s not a bad thing. Kenneling a dog is a divisive issue. For me, I have never used a crate with any of my dogs. My furniture is intact, no messes on the floor, and the dogs know that our home is their "safe place." I don't begrudge those that do kennel their dogs, am simply stating it is not something I could ever do to mine save for vet or groomer's visit which are short-lived and certainly only temporary.
