The first time I went hunting rabbits in RDR2 , I was about to shoot the rabbit with an arrow and a Eagle flew down and carried the Rabbit off. I didn't even know that was a thing, I sat there with my jaw on the floor in amazement. Absolutely an incredible and unexpected experience for sure!

I’ve seen stuff like that happen too, I saw an Eagle catch a snake and a fish too in red dead. There was also a cougar killing a deer in rdr2, and I really like how there’s a whole ecosystem. Of course, far cry games have ecosystems too, I haven’t played far cry 6, but I know that there are lots of predator prey encounters in far cry 4, primal & 5. Can’t remember if 3 had any or not

I would just waste all my grenades and ammo to enjoy the water effects in RDR2. Its just so satisfying. The water physics in RDR2 looks so realistic that it feels like it's a simulated 3d animation rather than a game.

I really enjoyed FarCr6 a lot, probably one of my favs in the franchise, but RDR2 is just on a different level. I have never seen an open world game with so much detail to even the smallest and most irrelevant things it's actually insane how the game was running on my PS4 without it exploding. From the NPCs to the weather to the animals everything just came down together that simply felt like an actual living world. Gotta admit though I'm a sucker for Ubisoft games, their games are usually not very innovative or special but they're fun. Ubisoft games are like most Marvel movies, they have this formula that they keep using because it works, they're fun experiences.

One thing that I've realised about both games is that all the farcry games up to this point have taken around 3-4 years to complete. RDR2 on the other hand was in development for over eight years. The farcry games are not as detailed or complex as RDR2 because their meant to be released more often to be open-world action games with memorable villains as their main focus. RDR2 was meant to not just be a game, but an experience with a fantastic story, beautiful graphics, millions of tiny details, fun gameplay etc. Ubisoft could spend nine years making farcry 7 if they want to and make it just as if not more detailed than RDR2, but they wont because their goal with farcry is to make a simple open-world shooter with memorable characters, villians, and hostile turkeys that they can release every 1-2 years to make a lot of money. Farcry works by releasing games often with lots of advertising together with memorable characters and with average attention to detail to make money. RDR2 is only the second (third if you count revolver) game of the franchise due to how long it took to develop and because of it is now one the most best selling videogames ever while no farcry game have even come close to being a best selling video game, and also made a shit ton of money because of it. One releases six games a decade to make money. The other releases two masterpieces a decade to make money. Just to be clear, I'm not hating on either franchise. I'm just pointing out their differences when it comes to details and development time. Farcry is one of my favourite game franchises and RDR2 is one of my favourite games of all time.

Far cry 6 has basically no detail whatsoever it has good grphics in all but as far as detail gose far cry has none and what little it douse have its not that great like that horse poop is garbage it looks like a pile of mud in a low buget game on 144p and is contrasted heavily compared to the rest of the world and all damge impact to anything is believably small and heals almost imeadtly. Also all the greenary flows to much and to oftwn like thiers a storm going on but only it is being effected.

RDR2 is the closest game you'll get to an actual "real life simulator". For goodness sakes, the NPCs actually have a schedule they adhere to. It's a fully, living, breathing world. No comparison can be made, simply because there's no other game quite like it.

That is a really nice touch that you can destroy foliage in Far Cry 6, although the execution of it (despawning a few seconds later) is pretty lacking. Compared to that I think I’d just take no foliage destruction. Also, it’s worth noting that while most trees in RDR2 can’t be destroyed, cacti in New Austin can.

Blowing down trees is one thing I've never seen in a game before to my knowledge. I want a game to incorporate all all of this and the building structure physics in Red Faction Guerilla and look as good as RDR2 and I think we'd have something truly groundbreaking. Imagine if it was an open world game and if you destroy a building during the next few day night cycles you'll see construction undergoing. Even if they only take a few days to fix it, it'd be incredible to witness destruction on that level

RDR2 took every employee, developer, artist rockstar had. They didn’t finish the game till end of 2018. So GTA could t have even been in full production until early/mid 2019 at the earliest. Then the pandemic hit. So yeah we are looking at 2025ish

I'm going to be honest, for me a game with actually well made NPC's (RDR2) is the best thing I could ask for, it makes the game seem so much more alive. Theres side quests that can randomly occur and their exactly like the player. No overkill thing were when you touch a NPC they die with the worst ragdoll possible.

yeah, they are better on a technical level. But the graphics of RDR 2 are much better optimized, meaning, if you have a low end PC and want to play at 60fps, RDR 2 will look much much better than far cry 6 at the settings needed for 60 fps. This is mostly because of RDR 2s Engine, because its custom made fpr RockStar games. So overall i would still give graphics to RDR 2. And in the beautiful map of RDR 2 u can enjoy the graphics a lot more. They are completely different, u cant really compare them. Both are awesome, but i think RDR 2 is on another level

In conclusion: Rockstar turns digital possibilities into reality and creates a masterpiece. Ubisoft on the other hand, well.. doesn't haha I think it's really embarrassing. Things like that make me not buy the game. Can't expect me to pay full price when you don't apply full development possibilities and create a game with ten year old game physics. 🤡

@@adrianos2526 ur doing something wrong then. I consider myself as kind of an expert in graphics and monitors, and that doesnt seem right at all. Its probably that rdr 2 doesnt recognize ur monitor as true HDR instead the think its H1-HDR and try to apply the H!-Graphics and colors. I would definitely try to fix that, because RDR 2 on 4k HDR is fucking awesome. Cant it get it to run on more than 60fps at max settings+graphics mod 4k HDR on my overclocked 3090. The graphic requirements for that are fucking insane.

@@watermelonium9671 I'm also an expert at graphics stuff mate i literally tried everything on hdr on my ps5 and pc (connected to my tv x9000h 65inch 4k) all games are 100times with more contrastd more colour deep black level more realistic for me when hdr is OFF when hdr is on (best optimised settings for hdr) everything is bright and less saturated colour less sharper hdr off is like a hot cute girl hdr on is like a dead girl i used to have hdr on though but after I've realized hdr off is 1000times better i switched back

As good as the story is I would never go as far to say RDR2 is a masterpiece. The slow walking when in camp ( I mean a light jog would’ve even been nice) and looting is immensely slow no matter how immersive or realistic it really doesn’t help when you’ve killed a massive group of enemies and want to loot which obviously takes up time. The switching of my goddamn loadout when I get off my horse. I set a loadout of my two schofields, evans repeater with a scope and pump action shotgun all customised as my main weapons but when I get off my horse and about to go into some gunfight I’m shooting with stuff like cattleman revolvers or Lancaster repeaters or whatever. I set my loadout in a certain way because those are the guns I chose for myself and I don’t care that this can be prevented by putting unwanted weapons in your locker they shouldn’t switch my loadout period. It’s infuriatingly annoying. The incredibly slow sections of the game as well especially the beginning of the epilogue. In terms of the story because it’s a prequel I know that most of the gang that isn’t in the first game is most likely dead. I even knew Arthur would die because he was never mentioned in the first game and although his death was still incredibly heartbreaking and emotional and one of the best redemption arks I’ve ever seen in any form of media, it was lacking a bit in terms of immersion. One thing they got absolutely perfect is Arthur’s ark. Obviously most of my problems lie with gameplay and controls rather than the story but this is after all a game and should be judged like one. And I just mentioned a few issues. So is the game great? Yes. One of the best of all time? Definitely. A masterpiece? No. It isn’t. Judge it like a game not a movie.

Masterpiece doesn't mean flawless, nothing is flawless. Really, your issues are relatively minor in the entire scheme of things, leaned a bit too far into immersive for you, but others don't share the annoyance. Judging it as a game, if its not a masterpiece, not sure masterpieces exist within gaming.

@@RagnarokMic that’s prolly cause I only mentioned a few. There’s getting bad honour for really stupid reasons at times. Like just cause I loot a lawman or some stranger who is dead and does not need any of what I’m taking, I get bad honour. I also would’ve liked more gun variations. I mean aside from damage and a bit higher stats in some guns compared to others it’s not much to make me wanna strive to get it. Mind you there’s more issues but watch white light’s critique, he put it much better than I could.

Keep in mind that Far cry 6 took 4 years to make while rdr2 took 8 years. Far cry 6 is pretty impressive considering it only took half the time. Rockstar takes forever to make a game. But when they do, it's a fuckin masterpiece!
