Outstanding work!!! More so, this video is very special to me as it has really helped on my own Blazer build. At this moment, I’m undergoing my first hard body modification (and it had to be on a Bkazer!!!), extending my K5 to 324mm (12.75”). I had already ordered the parts from Mod19RC at Shapeways before ever watching your vid, then I stumbled upon it and thankfully so cause I was about to start going at it the wrong way. As of now my body has already been glued, filled, and sanded, but I still need to do some more body work to the wheel wells. Still, I really appreciate you making this video and posting for everybody to learn from your amazing techniques. You sir are very kind for that.

That was some great work. I was not liking the idea of chopping up a blazer body and cringed when you started cutting but it turned out really nice. You have some great skills there! I read it isn't yours and you were just doing the body work but I'd love to see it finished sometime. Thanks for the great video.

Hey man, sorry to ruin your comment count of 69, but I looked through every single one and my question wasn't already answered, so I'm here to ask: what kind of saw do you use. I see a lot of price variance in the ones sold online. Is there a particular brand you recommend, or is a cheap one as good as any?
@turksandjerps2 жыл бұрын
Hehehe... I prefer to use any type of pull saw. Easier to control and get a straight cut. I'm currently into Japanese saws and have been using Suizan brand, I like the 7" Dozuki.

Hey man well done. Just got the Blazer body and your videos going to guide me through amazingly. lol, here’s hoping mine comes out almost as good as yours:) Couple questions if you have a moment. Is that the 12” wheelbase bed extension? If so, in using my TF2 chassis, is the stock rear shock location still okay to use? Or will I need to move them back a little to center them in the rear wheel wells?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly, I think it was 12.3" which would be the TF2 LWB. You'd likely need to move your shock location while moving the axle back.
@ravensdalerc4 жыл бұрын
@@turksandjerps ya cool thanks. I got the 12” WB one that’s about 1/2” thick. Thought yours was about the same thickness. Either way, taking a pull saw to it tonight😬

Been trying to find a truck body like this for gen8 but the wheelbase is always too short. Any ideas if this will work on a gen8 or scx10 ?
@turksandjerps4 жыл бұрын
With the Blazer converted to the short bed pickup like I did it would fit those. The Blazer would be too short but you can easily shorten the links on those trucks to accommodate.

What would you reccomend to bond a hardbody?ill be bobbing a mojave and ive heard and seen many things being used
@turksandjerps5 жыл бұрын
Styrene and ABS are best with solvents that weld the materials. I use MEK substitute. There are hobby specific ones like Bondene or Same Stuff. I would not recommend glue.
