Yeah, I've read conflicting things. Some say that that part wasn't in the theatrical release, just in the tv edit. Others say that the extended parts with Mongo right after this scene weren't in the theatrical release but that this part was. I'd think this part at least would have to be in the movie. I had the movie on VHS and at the end it included the tv version's scenes but I don't have a vcr to check it hah.

Candy gram was in the theater release. Several scenes were made and they play on the television version because of all the scene cuts due to content, but candy gram was original. I was 15 when I saw this movie at the cinema and remember it well…plus I’ve seen it countless times since.

There was a movie in the late 60's or early 70's called 'Vanishing Point " Big hit , almost a cult following , and Cleavon played a blind D.J., keeping radio contact with the star , who was driving a 1970 Dodge Challenger 'cross country , alerting him where the cops roadblocks were.
