SPOILERS FOR A MANGA THAT'S BEEN OVER FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS It's a real shame. I like the touch they did with hollow ichigo in the abridged series here. Hollow Ichigo tips off the big reveal in the manga far better with most of his dialogue. He actually IS Zangetsu while the avatar ichigo believes is Zangetsu is actually Juha Bach (holy shit spelling) who had been suppressing Ichigo's abilities for the entire series up to this point and hollow ichigo has been trying to help him with his problems in this own overly assertive way the entire time. Hollow Ichigo was just trying to do his job as a zanpakuto and part of ichigo's soul and Ichigo just thought of him as this evil burden and fought him the entire time up until this point. I feel bad for the poor guy.

@@Vile_Oreo Its actually kinda cool that all the times Zangetsu interfered could be misconstrued as an inner hollow trying to take over during a moment of stress and distraction such as in the middle of a fight but it was actually Zangetsu desperately trying to save Ichigo from enemies stronger than him. It's a sorta overbearing protectiveness...sorta like how Ichigo is to his own friends and family which Chad called him out on.

The way i see it, both the old man and white are zangetsu. I know there is old man zangetsu saying he isn’t zangetsu, but i feel like ichigo stating that he is zangetsu and the fact that there is a secondary blade representing old man zangetsu after reforging his blade is kinda majorly outweighing the argument that he isn’t Zangetsu.

@@Neoste Technically, White/Zangetsu never explicitly lied to Ichigo, he just never explicitly explained the dynamics to Ichigo. Black/Young Ywhach was the one to come out and erroneously say he was his Zanpākuto spirit, when White correctly said *he* was Zangetsu that one time.

@@kalebdavis7080 still, the fact that he always refered to him as the "other" Zangetsu make this suspect because he is NOT Zangetsu in any way, he is just a Quincy support power in addition to Zangetsu unlike Ichigo thinks. Also the first time White appeared when Kenpachi almost killed Ichigo, White called Yhwach "Zangetsu-san", he never refered to the old man as anything else than "Zangetsu", he even said to Ichigo that originally he and Zangetsu were one being, while it is false because one is his shinigami power and the other is not and yes they fused when Ichigo learn the final getsuga but for me it is just a part of the act to "convince" him (they did not fused because they were originally one but because they learned to do so)

5:36 in the actual anime everyone freaked out like that because they all have blue hollows. White is a Vasto lorde class hollow thats in a class of his own. His spiritual pressure at only half a mask was almost 10x greater than everyone else in the room. Think about how powerful White actually is, with only half a mask he was able to bare hand choke out Hiyori in full released form and scared her hollow so bad it Went back to Hiyori's spiritual world and said "Yep...fuck all of that noise." 🤣

That's why I loved Hollow Ichigo in the early series. He was basically an invincible force that really just wanted to survive. He was Kenpachi 2.0 LOL anytime he came he was the most commanding force in the room. Hiyori was owning Ichigo (albeit he was holding back) and then in one instant Hollow Ichigo choked her nearly to DEATH ☠️ dude was a monster on every level 💯

Logan does a great "Johnny Yong Bosch's" Ichigo voice but he has never sounded more like ICHIGO than that "COME ON!" moment at 2:15. It's like that time in DBZA when KaiserNeko said "YOU NEED TO BE STOPPED" in that Kai episode. I dunno it's a small thing but I really appreciate it. This series is a gem I'll never get tired of it.

I swear I need to stop, but each time I watch this, I keep coming to the same conclusion. The abridged actually makes the show better. Specifically how Zangetsu interacts with Ichigo directly instead of it being completely devoid of conversation as expected with a supposed intelligent "hollow" as shown with Byakuya when he spoke of Ichigo being unable to use his bankai correctly due to his overwhelming spiritual pressure. Also. That entire fight with Hiyori (outside of the beginning which was for comedic purposes alongside making more sense for her change in character for, once again, comedic purposes) actually feels so much better with the change to Zangetsu actually interacting with Ichigo the entire time. The chip was hilarious because Ichigo is a dense block, but still. Outside of a few key moments for continuity and jokes, I really think this is a straight up improvement to the series in most scenarios.

Ya know Ichigo was a total butthead but it was not entirely his fault. if maybe a single goddamn person in his life had come clean about the various weirdness that was coming down the pike he might of had a minor clue how to deal with this stuff. Mom might have left a clue that "Hey son I'm an endangered species with a really nasty communicable disease that, oh yeah you're infected with as well, tehe.". Or dad could have mentioned the fact that he was an awol shinigami and could have shown Ichigo how to do all the fun shinigami stuff without his son having to learn it on the fly and in the heat of battle. I mean not a single person to my knowledge has sat the kid down and explained how to do even the most rudimentary of their magic let alone training in their martial arts or sword arts

Irritablemarine In Isshin's defense, his powers didn't return until Ichigo released his own powers and even if Ichigo got a good breather, Isshin had created a 15 year old facade that would've been more jarring to break it with the "Yeah I used to be a Shinigami and can't see Spirits now because my power is holding back a poisonous power in your mother".

Does it feel like White/Zangetsu is horrible at expressing how friendly he is not only due to the direction from Old Man Zangetsu but also because he is an expression of Ichigo himself (as a Zanpakuto) and Ichigo horribly sucks at making friends? And White criticising Ichigo is him criticising his own limitations? PS: I love Bleach, and I watch this as another story with its own characters.
