The manga version of the bankai scene was a special chapter of bleach . I think the panels had orange borders and it was in color if I remember correctly. Every single panel was beautiful from expressions and poses. Also yes that comedic scene wasn’t in the manga there wasn’t any comedy between the ichigo vs byakuya fight. Genuinely amazed you guys asked where toshrio and rangiku are going when they literally said it 😭

It will take them almost 2 years exactly from the time they started. They didn’t start double drops until week 5 or 6 and Bleach only has 203 episodes before TYBW. So 104 episodes a year with double drops and factoring in the first 5-6 weeks of single drops that’s almost 2 years on the dot

I got it - they just don't care about anything that's not Ichigo or Kenpachi. And that's fine you can feel what you want, but also, i feel like they're not even trying to care about the other stuff either. Like, they've already pre-emptively decided to not care about anything other than Ichigo vs Byakuya, so when other stuff happens they're already in a "fuck this, don't care" mood about it. Which is a shame, all of this stuff is pretty good imo, (even Ikkaku and Iba chilling and drinking, i LOVE seeing and building the relationships between different characters) but it is what it is. A part of this could also be because they don't think the Gotei 13 are gonna be important, so they're not bothering to get invested in them. But idk why they'd think that, they are so obviously important to the whole series.

Yeah, it's kinda sad they just automatically abandoned everyone that isn't Ichigo or Rukia, it's like they can't keep more than a handful of people in their minds at one time. They don't seem to realise they're looking at the ensemble cast for the foreseeable future that's been set up over the process of the Soul Society arc, they probably think we're just gonna leave all these characters behind when the arc ends.

It’s not that making the bankai smaller makes you faster or stronger, it’s the form in which the bankai takes and the way that bankai’s power is manifested. Ichigo’s bankai is essentially a pure stat buff without a unique form or gimmick that makes it difficult to fight against unlike others where they summon a giant black dome that robs your senses or a sword that turns into flower petals but is actually millions of razor sharp blades which is good for surrounding your enemies and attacking on all sides or for crowd control against groups of enemies. Point is that a bankai’s potential power are all the same between one another but the way that power takes form make is suited for certain situations better than others.

I think they're genuinely too jaded towards anime now. They're so focused on making jokes and quips between long pauses. The dub really feels like ur watching a cutscene from a game, unforunately. Other than few voice actors actually giving effort in acting, the dub is just straight up bad, sucks that in TYBW the dub turns it up and even the few of those decent VAs are now washed meanwhile others sound like complete NPCs, especially since there's a lot more 'emotion' demand in TYBW, really makes it unwatchable. Slight cringe as you said is the perfect way to describe it

The good ones became washed, and also viz continues to stray away from the material and make cringe additions. A lot of the times I feel like im listening to those game NPCs that make me skip and don't listen to them talk

All those same channels tend to start loving it by tybw. That’s a whole but they tend to not like the joky part and just wanna get it over with but tend to get more into it later. Something about bingeing and knowing how hype people say a series is good makes watching it more like folds arms ok impress me if your so good instead of I can’t wait to try out this new show. The old day pacing and look is the issue. Unlike Naruto where it’s easier to get and the animation and pacing was slow but they knew where it was all going the entire time and it was one of their first shows.
