Arrancar do not naturally have zanpakuto, nor any shinigami powers. Arrancar are simply a hollow that has survived the removal of their mask. Aizen uses the Hogyoku to perform a hybridisation on each of the hollows who joins him, which is a separate process from becoming an Arrancar, which he is also able to induce with the Hogyoku. Note that Starrk, Ulquiorra and Barragan all lack zanpakuto before joining Aizen.

They also weren't arrancar before joining aizen my dude. Adjochas, and maybe vasto lordes, sure. But definitely not arrancar. We see some of the espada before they joined, but they weren't arrancar at that point. Grimmjoww for example was an adjochas, had his mask removed to become an arrancar. Iirc, it is said that thats when they get the zanpukto, as the evolve into the arrancar state.

Great video honestly. You fucking did it again. I really enjoyed the Arrancar Saga(probably my fav). The atmosphere it creates is awesome, with the way how Hueco Mundo looks(empty, inverted moon, etc), the music and ofc cool designs. Also the fact how Hueco Mundo arc parallels Soul Society arc, which imo was intentional and not just laziness. it shows how fundamentally different Hollows and Shinigamis are, but not completely opposite in the way they "feel"(especially espadas 1-6, all of them have their own motive to work under Aizen, not just his strength). On the other hand, lower level arrancars and even Espada 7 and 9 are completely enamored by Aizen's strength, which makes them more "hollow like" and instinctive. Then we have Nel. Who is possibly the perfect Arrancar(instinctual animals gaining "reasoning" and "logic") Also I think I can try to answer where their aspect of death comes from. We know the process of hollows turning into Gillians, then into Adjucas and then Vasto Lorde. And we know how plus turns into hollows. Some form of "negative" emotion that keeps them from moving on. So when a hollow eats other hollows, its "emotions"(or instinct) dominates others. Gillians are all mindless but 1 Gillian retains that "emotion"(or instinct) and starts devouring others to become Adjucas, and so on. So Espadas aspect of death is that dominant "emotion". And it makes sense for that "emotion" to be related to death. That's just what I think anyways. Can't wait for next one.

I’ve always wondered if Arrancar’s Zanpakuto, given that they are born from their shattered hollow mask act as a facsimile for their shinigamification since traditional Shinigami manifest Zanpakuto spirits via their Asauchi. If that’s the case are hollows and Zanpakuto spirits considered two sides of the same coin? If that’s the case then I guess it adds to note how Ichigo’s Zangetsu despite having a hollowfied spirit and manifestation of Quincy powers had both abilities and Bankai that’s very similar to an Arrancar’s ressureccion in concept. Mostly because Shinigami and Hollows have this massive duality on self mastery, tradition, and talent vs raw natural power, bloodlust and instinct.

11:24 IMHO White is just an artificial shinigami soul based Vasto Lord, if it is humanoid like a vasto lord, looks like a vasto lord, has a power level around those of a vasto lord should have, has the size of a vasto lord and fired off ceros like menos do, it is a vasto lord as far as I am concerned, even if evolved artificially by a very artificial method. Also, I do not believe that White resides within Ichigo, I belive that it is deeper than that, I belive that White essentially becomes Ichigo, in the sense that White fuses with the soul that was going to become Ichigo when he is born, essentially becoming one, one more soul for the White composite-soul, and Ichigo, the Ichigo we know, is born from this composite-soul, the same way that a zan spirit is born from the composite souls that are asauchis, in this sense Ichigo, the kokoro part of him is born within White, and White becomes his spiritual body, essentially Ichigo is just the conscience of White and by being fused with a living soul and living in a human body for so long while sealed, White changes and becomes the Ichigo we know. This is the reason why Ichigo can go full mega hollow against ulquiorra and then return to his normal self, because Ichigo did not become a hollow nor was infected with a hollow, nor was he born from the depts of hueco mundo nor from the weird concept that is hollow sexual reproduction, he was born from withing a completly blank hollow, a completely blank hollow who became a living human. For Ichigo there is no separation between hollowness and humanity, he can cross that threshold back and forth without a problem, he is what happens when a human baby gets a blank composite hollow soul instead of a normal blank soul. It is also very telling that when he finally forges true zangetsu, the next time he uses a hollow form, the hollow form is that of an arrancar, with a mask fragment instead of a full mask, this is because like an arrancar, he sealed his hollow side(and his shinigami and quincy sides) in a zanpakuto, this is what hollows do to become arrancar, essentially Ichigo technically was an asauchi-hollow before and now is a shinigami-arrancar. I believe too many ignore that Hollows are the base of shinigami powers, shinigami powers are artificial, they need an artificial tool, the asauchi, to become shinigami, and the asuchi is essentially a menos grande but made out of non-hollowfied souls, a plus grande if you will, this is very clearly inspired by menos grandes and arrancar, so in a way shinigami are mock arrancar, arrancar create their blades in a natural if super rare process, but shinigami just have a technology. The only exception is the monk but that being said, the monk is not really a shinigami, he is probably something that existed in the original world and that shinigami use hollow-like methods to mimick.

Hold on. Fulbringers and Quincy aren’t “races”. They’re just humans who use spirit powers in different ways. That’s not like being black, white, east asian, or latino. Race is a social category based on external characteristics that one doesn’t choose in the same vein as sex. The factor that distinguishes the Quincy and Fulbringers is their culture in how they wield reiryoku, not a unchangeable part of themselves that they came into the world without a say in the matter. And now that I think about it, Shinigami isn't a race either because they're just Pluses who used to be human that had the opportunity to self reflect and wield their souls as weapons instead of becoming Hollows. The same person could start their soul life as a human who manifests a fulbring before becoming a Quincy who then dies and turns into a Plus to enter the Soul Society and train as a Shinigami before meeting true soul death when either their Reishi vaporizes when they expire as a spirit or Hollowfy to the point of becoming a different person. If someone can retain their memories as multiple kinds of being then the concept of "race" makes even less sense in Bleach's world than it does in ours!

Quincy are explicitly their own species. They are a branch evolution that evolved parallelly to humans after Ywatch was born. Their abilities and weaknesses are hereditary, and they cannot turn into an hollow. Like, Masaki wouldn't have turned into an Hollow when White infected her. Her soul was getting completely destroyed by the Hollowfication process. It's also for the same reason that Ichigo is the only Fullbringer-Quincy hybrid. Under normal circonstances, the Quincy and Hollow spiritual energies would completely destroy each other to nothingness and kill the individual before they can be born as a Fullbringer. Same thing with Shinigami (and the residents of the Seireitei). When Pluses are sent to the Seireitei, their soul get reincarnated. They are reborn as living spirits, have siblings, grow old, get sick, have kids, have bloodline specific abilities (i.e. Getsuga Tensho, which is a Shiba clan unique skill), etc. When they die, they get reincarnated again as humans and the cycle continue. As far as I can remember, the kid whose soul was trapped inside the bird was the only instance of a reincarnated soul (not to be confused with Pluses or Hollows) remembering their time as a human. In Marvel comic book terms, the differences between those groups would be : - humans and souls (Seireitei) are "Humans" - Visors and Hollows are "Mutates" - Fullbringer are "Mutants" - Quincy are "Inhumans" because of Ywatch's influence in their lore.

absolutely insane claim that a REGULAR vasto lorde is equivalent or even above a captain level fighter. some of the espada were vasto lordes even before the hogyoku ascended them to arrancarr(harribell, barragan, stark) and with the exception of barragan, each is defeated fairly effortlessly ba a single captain. stark even without the use of bankai. the supposed strongest espada no. 0 is beaten by byakuya in shikai plus kenpachi with his eyepatch on. honestly the arrancar were super overhyped in relation the how dangerous they actually ended up being.

Espada aspects of death arent unique for every individual espada For instance nel,dordoni and halibel have all the exact same aspect and it shows not only in their personality but also in how they fight It cant however explain how one member can have multyple numbers unless the respective aspects have similar traits ... for instance szayel has been espada 0 as cien , 9 during nels flashback and 8 during the hueco mundo arc
