For real though, my man is the most popular Stern Ritter for a reason and getting an after credits omake with him specifically akin to the old-school Arrancar Encyclopedia/Shinigami Picture Book is fantastic. The way I look at it is we weren't even meant to have this extra episode in the first place, so if they needed to fill some extra time to make the production satisfied I'm fine with that. Last Cour they did it because production was rushed and they had to do something, this Cour they did it to make sure we could get that extra 15 minutes worth of content stuffed into this season and even acknowledged why they were doing it. At least this time around it was actually entertaining, centered around (whether you like him personally or not) one of the most popular characters in this arc, and gave genuinely good new information in regards to Yhwach's original Royal Guard. I'm plenty satisfied.

Gerald's The miracle heals any damage and makes him stronger based on the level of the damage he had received. It's like in dragon ball how Cell combined the Namecian regen with the Sayin Zenkai boost. the size increase is more a bonus really a way to show how monstrously powerful he grows.

the omake ending with Askin was 100% because the 1st episode of this season was a 7 minute recap with the Ichibei fight finishing WHICH would have been the finale of season 2's episode 13. This season instead got the bonus episode (ep 14) to make up for that difference. Essentially it's 13.5 episodes of content to make up for season 2's 12.5 episodes worth.

I genuinely think Jugram will betray Yhwach, Why? 1. Bazz B was Jugrams first friend who actually ever showed any form of kindness and companionship even though Bazz B never considered Jugrams intentions or goals and was jealous and slightly resentful toward Jugram at becoming the right hand and also disliked Jugrams pity in the past. Bazz B was around Jugram training and helping him for 5 years but their relationship is very vague during the 1000 years together as Sternritter. 2. Jugram didn’t want revenge, but he knew of Yhwach killing other quincies, sure Yhwach killed Jugrams uncle but there were other quincies that were killed. 3. Jugram has killed Cang Du and BG9 sternritters in Cour 2 for losing, since they lost, their power was absorbed by Yhwach, this was most likely a command by Yhwach because why else would Jugram kill Quincy Soldiers, Jugram says in episode 19 in Cour 2 that Yhwach must continue to absorb souls then it cuts him off. 4. Even though Jugram never said he wanted revenge he still did his best in training to support Bazz B in fulfilling his goal in killing Yhwach. 5. When Bazz B shoots his arrow at Yhwach, Jugram catches it. I can only imagine that if Jugram didn’t catch it Bazz B would have been killed. 6. Despite Jugrams loyalty to Yhwach, because Yhwach was the first person to ever recognize Jugrams strength and to give him a purpose, Jugram did not immediately kill Bazz B, he was conflicted because that was his best friend, toward the end you can see how dead and broken Jugram was, his slouched form in walking the steps, the way the animators try to hide Jugrams eyes, this is very common in Bleach to show despair, this happened with Ichigo in Part 1 of TYBW, in episode 7 when he talks to Byakuya, Ichigo’s hair covers his eyes a lot. It’s purposely animated like that. Considering Ichigo had just seen the Soul Reapers slaughtered in the Soul Society and a badly defeated Byakuya. When Ichigo gets whooped by Yhwach in episode 7 with the arrows and rocks the animators cover Ichigos eyes again showing his despair. 7. Jugram probably never tried to kill Yhwach because he never had a opportunity to, Jugram said so himself that Yhwach could have used his Almighty whenever but it would have gone out of control, so if Jugram tried to kill Yhwach, Yhwach would have just risked it and activated his Almighty, and the Auswahlen that drains quincies, it’s not very easy for Jugram to just assassinate Yhwach. 8. Jugram should have immediately eliminated Uryu if he was a threat, i believe him and Uryu are secretly planning something, Jugram has the Almighty meaning Yhwach is asleep but at the end of the episode Yhwach is awake killing the Bambi Squad (Quincy Girls), so it makes you think Jugram is using the Almighty while Yhwach is awake. This situation was entirely different in the manga, since were caught up I can say that Yhwach killed the Quincy girls first then fell asleep which transferred to Jugram, but in the anime Jugram awakened the Almighty first with Yhwach awake at the end. So, Jugram probably thinks he can’t do anything if Yhwach is awake. 9. When it goes to flashback for Uryu, his grandfather speaks (Soken Ishida), Soken says “The quincies of the world of the living have a mission to stop Yhwach” as soon as he says this it shows Uryu in the rain walk and approach Jugram who recruits him, but the thing is why did the animators hide Jugrams face in this episode when in Cour 1 they didn’t hide Jugram recruiting Uryu in the rain, his entire face was shown. 10. When Uryu says he demonstrated his power to elude the watchful eyes around him. In the flashback that shows ones who are watching Uryu doesn’t include Jugram. The flashbacks include Lillie Barro putting away his gun, Askin I think I have to go back and look, and the other shot is Pernida and Gerard but you can only see one side of them but you can tell it’s them by Gerard’s cape, and Pernida by how circular he looks in his Quincy cloak because he’s literally a hand and at that point he was clenching his fist giving that circular look because during the fight against Mayuri his fingers unclench and stretch out, but Jugram isn’t included in either of those shots, now you can say well this season showed Jugram watch Uryu a couple of times; at the Soul Kings Palace, Wahwrelt, and now during the confrontation, but if the anime is trying to recap you and tell you who has been watching Uryu wouldn’t you want to include every single person who suspected him, if so Jugram should have been included or shown a flashback of Jugram watching Uryu. 11. Also Jugram is a Quincy of the World of the Living like many quincies, and like Soken Ishida said it is the mission of the World of The Living Quincies to stop Yhwach.

First of all, this comment is gonna be LOOONG because I have so much to say but bear with me. Also, I copied this comment to my notes because I didn't want to keep writing it everywhere 😂 Yorouchi is so baddass bro! Askin is such a cool character and I love that he bodied Ichigo. Some people hated it because they view Ichigo as this super OP character but Kubo always shows us that brute strength won't always give you the W. Can't wait for Uryu's shrift to be revealed because it's so broken. He's also smart enough to notice small things like The Almighty not being as omniscient with Jugram. Rose and Kensei probably got saved by Mayuri in some way like how he did with Toushiro. Kira probably got saved too. Also, take note of how Rankigu was unphased by Gerard's appearance. Kubo said we would be getting some more Rangiku lore and I can't wait! After this Cour, part of me actually wants Yhwach to destroy the world 😂. In my opinion, the Soul Reapers are the bad guys. Not necessarily the current Gotei 13 and Sereitei, but Ichibei and those noble families, man. I'm also starting to question where Soul Reapers actually come from? It's clear that Quincies are Soul King Adneyeus' true people. Obviously, because Yhwach is his son. And like Pernida said when Mayuri asked, it was always a quincy. I mean the fact that the Soul King's Left Arm and Heart exist within the Quincy ranks in an almost pure form but the Right Arm within Ukitake basically devoured his internal organs in order to be activated shows that it is incompatible with Soul Reapers. The Soul King was apparently keeping some great evil at bay, and we still don't know what it is. I feel like the Soul Reapers might actually be beings from Hell and are a sort of separatist group that cut up the Soul King and used his power for their own means. I'm also convinced that the Ise(Nanao's) Family's Zanpakutou, the Shinken Hakkyoken, is what they used to cut up the Soul King and that's why they're cursed. Central 46 is so trash man. None of them wanted to harbour the curse so they condemned the women of the Ise clan to it. Then they murdered Nanao's mom because she didn't want her daughter to become vitcim to it? Man screw Central 46. Aizen must massacre them again 😂. I don't know, man. Everything about the Soul Reapers is just shady to me now 🥲. Also, If I remember correctly, the manga only had like 10 chapters left from this point so the next cour will have like 70% original content and I'm here for it 😭.

I'm guessing that either Uryu naturally survived the Auswalen or his mother stepped in to save him. Now here's the thing, Yhwach can set the parameters of the Auswalen to see who gets culled and who doesn't and how much is taken away. In the original one he took the lives of all the "Gemischt" Quincy (aka half-bloods) with Uryu and the Kurosaki kids being the only survivors...now here's a fun fact...being a Gemischt isn't just a matter of bloodlines. Case and point, Ichigo's mom, who was a "Echt" Quincy (aka a pure-blood), but she was corrupted by White, so the Auswalen designated her as a target. Also another fun fact is that Echt Quincy (like Masaki or the Stern Ritter) are granted advanced Quincy powers like Blut at birth. Gemischt Quincy (like Uryu and Ichigo) have to train to develop them, hence why they are only getting these more rare powers later-ish in life

Spiderman? Yoruichis more like Catwoman. I think askin is the inspiration for mahoraga or makora from jjk. To kill him you need 1 strong attack that kills him in one shot otherwise he'll adapt his opponents reiatsu and will be immune to his or hers attacks. How can uryu let ichigo know anything the Quincys most reliable CCTV camera haschwalt was watching him whenever he was with someone other than a Quincy. In the first chad episode of bleach (episode 4 I think) there is a scene where isshin is talking on the phone and tells someone from a hospital to provide beds for patients and tell the boss his name is kurosaki he'll understand he was talking about uryus dad. I think the quince encyclopedia thing in the end was done cuz the staff wanted to save what's left of the manga for the final cour. For context cour 1, 2, and 3 on average has 58 chapters there's only about 25 chapters of the manga left. Btw cour 4 will have the most anime original scenes supervised by the author. He said there would be episodes with content that isn't in the manga.

Lille was scattered by Nanao and is now much weaker. In fact, in the manga, Lille got off screened by Deadman Kira. === They brought Isshin and Ryūken back into the story much earlier than the manga. The only scene with them in the manga at this time was the brief flashback to Ryūken autopsying his wife to figure out how she died. === Yhwach dog walked the Bambis while asleep and without The Almighty. I'd feel sorry for Liltotto but I'm too happy watching Giselle suffer. === With 25 chapters left of the manga we will probably get about seven episodes worth of original content next cour so the ending of Episode 40 doesn't bother me. We've also already gotten the teaser trailer for cour 4 today as well as special opening and endings for Episode 40 that weren't in the streamed version of the episode.

It was an extra episode, my guy. It should have ended at 39 but because of a production issue with 26, along with the recap of 27, they decided to make episode 40.
