Thanks for this vid! I just did my first brake flush using the Motive Power Bleeder, but had no idea about the Dry method which means no CLEANING needed afterwards. I will def be trying this next time

This dry method is the way to do it. I had the motive rubber line split and it started spraying brake fluid inside the engine bay and on to the car. The bleeder bottle is backwards, the center tube is where the brake fluid should be going into the bleeder bottle. Also you can use the bleeder bottle to remove the fluid from the reservoir - put the rubber tube into the reservoir, squeeze the bottle, plug the air hole on the bottle with your finger and un-squeeze the bottle.

Seems like the dry bleeding method is more of a hustle that the normal way...The time you spend going back and forth checking and refilling the fluid holder is more than the time it would take to clean up...

I can see the appeal of not having to clean up the dripping brake fluid, but going this route, I think I would rather get a fluid extractor like a mityvac. Little more expensive, but they are well worth it. If I had an air compressor, I would get the vacuum bleeder.

My BMW dealer performed the brake fluid blush on my 2021 X5M with only 10,500 miles. They also changed the spark plugs, air filters and engine oil & filter. From what I can tell, they did not remove the wheels. On the rear of all four wheels, I could see where some dirt was rubbed off the barrels, probably from placing bleeder hose onto caliper bleed screws, but I don't believe the front outside bleed screws were opened. So I don't believe the outside part of the front calipers were flushed. I could see some small remnants of brake fluid near the master cylinder, but that's about it. So is it possible that the job was done correctly?

Hello Mr. Will, It says it will NOT work with any system that builds pressure. Is that true? and did it work for you with 15 PSI? HYspeed RED Fuel Line Quick Connect 5/16" Quick disconnect fuel couplings add convenience and ease of use. Simply press the thumb latch and the two halves separate. Connection is just as easy just press the two halves together. Will NOT work with any system that builds pressure.

I’m not sure about the RED version, but the one I used in the video works. It has the proper o-rings to hold pressure. I still use it today.

Cant you just use a Mityvac hand pump with an adapter that goes over the master cylinder?

This looks good but how do you know you took all the old oil out of the sistem ? Surely new fluid will just be mixing with the old one ??
@joshuawalker50447 ай бұрын
You should go through about 2L of fluid total.

Hey know it’s a little older video just had a quick question!! I know your not draining all the break fluid, but did you need more than the 1 liter of bottle to fill new break fluid?
@WillsGarageOfficial2 жыл бұрын
You’ll get most of it out with 1 bottle but I think you’ll need a bit more if you want to get to 100% on this specific car.
