1tip, just select scalp of character and separate , no need to retopology again just for hair

@LancePhan5 жыл бұрын
turn on deflect emitter in the tool setting panel but that will cause some problems especially around the forehead area where the scalp mesh end. In this video. To truely solve the problem, you just have to get good and turn off the deflect emitter.

Thanks for the tutorial, but it's soooo fast it's impossible to really see what you're doing and what you're choosing at each step. Can you please please do a slower version possibly. It's quite hard to follow it. Even with constant pausing every 5 seconds, I still feel like I'm not getting the full content of the steps. Thanks so much.

You select your character then go to edit mode and select the portion that you want to make the scalp, then duplicate it by Shift and separate it by P, there you go

Monkey Robots Inc. that’s subjective. Also, it’s called “stylized” art or something like that (not a native speaker), so it’s normal that the proportions don’t match a realistic face

Hi, I see you are a master of the procedural textures. Congrats and many thanks for that. If you are looking for a challenge, can you do these hair on the side of a thigh with a procedural texture? It is a real life texture that I can put on my rendering but I’d like to go procedural so the machine does the work for me. If you can, can you give us a tutorial for it? Anyway thanks and once again congrats. Your tutos are a pleasure for the thinking man.

You said that hair distribution of Blender is terrible... But all you need is to apply shade smooth on your mesh... Blender just follows your normals.
@LancePhan4 жыл бұрын
that's not the thing, shade smooth fix the direction of the hair but not the distribution. If you look closely you can see some parts have more hairs than the others no matter the shading

why we need to create a scalp mesh for hair, why not create hair on main mesh itself?
@LancePhan5 жыл бұрын
The scalp can maintain a sharp hair line at the forehead, I can control the hair line however I want, I can also change the topology of the base mesh. I can't do any of those if I add the hair directly to the base mesh

@LancePhan4 жыл бұрын
the particles must be close enough for the merge by distance to run before the sub menu shows up. So just add a bunch of particles until the merge by distance run, then you can set the distance

What ya did there with drawing polys on the entire scalp, seemed a tad unnecessary.. Why not just select the portion of the scalp that you want the hair on, and copy the faces? Might still require moving some vertices or maybe even adding a few polys to get the shape right, but it'd be a lot less work than that.
