Thank you for indicating that this tutorial and many others like it are in the EEVEE render engine, often ill get deep into a tutorial only to find out that Cycles is required for the final render. My computer isn't good enough yet!

Nice tutorial, im coming from 3dsmax so its quite the change in layout and ui. I have a problem everytime i follow your tutorial i end up with way more faces than you, i even got less subdivision and bevels. The only thing i think it could be would be the default sphere has more faces in the first place even through rough comparison it doesnt look that way.

I've tried scaling up the flower, empty and flower+empty in object and edit mode and I can't get it to scale the way yours is where the petals kind of separate. It just kind of get bigger or does some other stuff that I don't really need.
