(Blender/BATDW) Sammy Lawrence Monologue - BEHIND THE SCENES (Q&A in the comments!)

An animation in the works for 7 months with the size constantly changing is bound to have some BTS stuff, and it did.
This video would have come out sooner if I hadn't rediscovered the screen recordings I made toward the beginning of the project. I wasn't entirely sure how to fit them in with what I'd already done, but I think I managed. Obviously, this video is a bit flawed. I've never done a BTS video before and had a lot more content than I thought I had, so if it's a bit lengthy and boring, I apologize. I wanted to keep this as low-effort as I could so I could get it out sooner than 2 months. There's more content that I didn't add, so I'll probably upload some of those to my Twitter.
Like the video says, I'm also up for a Q&A in the comment section, answering questions about the animation itself and some the lore of Bendy and the Demon Within that you may be curious about. I'll try and answer as many as I can, though I may reserve some answers due to spoilers. ;)
As for what next, I'm a bit between projects right now. I used to have a solid plan to animate a Bendy audio drama that I really liked and had vivid ideas for, but I discovered that one of the collaborators had a controversy that was enough to completely throw that project out the window (yes, it's that bad). I might take a bit of a break to do some digital art, because I feel like I don't do that as much as I would like to. After that, I'm between a new F&F VHS series with a pretty unique idea and style, and an attempt at a Bendy Analog Horror series, which I actually think I know how to do well.

5:06 Quick note about Sillyvision here... I will at some point have to completely redefine Sillyvision once again, probably reverting it back to what it was, because I completely misunderstood what it was initially implemented as. I thought it was a plot point that the game just didn't explain, so I decided to put my own twist on it. Turns out, according to Dad, "Presented In Sillyvision" was most likely intended to be a sort of gimmick for the Bendy cartoons, and a lot of older films had something similar, like "Presented in Cinemascope" or "Presented in Technicolor" (the latter being one of the most common). It was one of those things that didn't need to be explained, but I just didn't understand what it was supposed to be, so that one's on me. On top of that, there weren't actually any televisions in the 1930's, so there's nothing to "broadcast". Cartoons were presented in theaters, and wouldn't have to be broadcasted until around the 1950's. In any other case, I'd just change Sillyvision to being the company that funded them in the early days, but given the whole "gimmick" thing, I'll probably just need to make a completely new name for the company entirely. Long story short, we're going back to "Presented in Sillyvision". Not "by Sillyvision".

There’s only been one Sammy model in this video…? The Sammy model I made is the same one I’ve been using for seven months, but it was really so that this animation could stand out more. If I wanted, I could have just used the original model, but I decided to model an entirely new one that was more human, dynamic, and expressive.

YOU NEED TO MAKE A GAME OR SOMETHING WITH EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING BECAUSE THIS IS FANTASTIC WORK YOU'VE PUT INTO THIS PROJECT. Dude I would LOVE a Bendy analog horror series especially with your models and animating style, it could seriously be something compared to Battington (even tho hes not doing his FNAF VHS anymore due to drama regarding what he did on twitter) Not to mention the whole concept of FNAF VHS has been done to death but even then if you end up doing FNAF instead of Bendy I'm sure you'd have some interesting ideas that could distinguish it from all the others as people tend to do. Either way I am in love with this, its nice to see animations from you again especially BTS content and I seriously cannot wait to see whatever you do in the future because you have serious talent.

I think a Bendy Analog Horror series could be done similarly to Kane Pixel’s Backrooms series as opposed to the traditional FNAF VHS style that we’re used to. I primarily want to highlight the development and creation of the Machine, done in the form of old film reels found in the studio as opposed to digital film. No paranormal or supernatural glitches and cutaways, just the creation of this unworldly Machine (whether it’ll be canon to BATDW is currently debatable). In terms of interesting ideas, I think both projects would be interesting in their own right, especially since the F&F VHS would highlight a part of the FNAF universe that doesn’t really get touched upon and favor that more than the horror. Regardless, I’ll probably start on the Bendy one first, as it’s the least ambitious one and hasn’t really been done before as far as I know. Also, thanks a bunch!

Out of everything I`ve seen from this fandom from the humble beginnings to it slow decline this? this right here just proves to me more that not just Batim but Bendy as a whole deserved better compared to what it`s left with now but with that said I really love your work and detail you put into this even if it was just a test video I hope to see more from you weather it`s Bendy or not.

I said the exact same thing on the animation video. The average everyday clothing from that era creates the illusion that he *was* a human at some point. But he's not jacked, ZERO OUT OF TEN! (I'm joking, I love this design) I didn't know this was an entire AU. That information is just... MMMMMMM. A few questions are in order then. Does this AU happen after the events of the game? If so, what is the core story? (This question applies regardless if the first one is yes or no) I would have more questions, but those are the ones I want to ask at the moment. Also, if you were to have the rest of the segment (Sammy's death, Henry's escape, Bendy's chase, Boris' appearance) as a separate video we wouldn't mind. We'd just watch them in the order they play out accordingly. By the way, that Henry design is awesome! I'd love to see what other designs you have for the rest of the cast aswell! The amount of work that you put into this animation has dedication written all over it. (I had to rewrite this whole comment, because I left to check the description of the animation video to see if you said anything about it being an AU. I copied but it only was saved for less than 2 minutes and I couldn't go to sleep because of this, AHHHHHHHHH!)

The main narrative of the Bendy and the Demon Within AU is allegedly _before_ the events of the game. The core idea of it is that Bendy is now the protagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine instead of Henry. It’s not a swap scenario, so we still got the Ink Demon, though protag Bendy is ALSO still the Ink Demon. Some lore details are changed or added, but the same story plays out. The video itself actually takes place AFTER the main narrative, because we’re playing as Henry instead of Bendy, so do what you will with that information. ;) Thanks for the kind words! I’m not sure if I’ll extend the ending to what I initially intended it to be, but I deeply appreciate the support. (Also, I too find myself writing KZbin comments as if they were assignments for school, especially when checking my sources to see if the information is accurate and revising accordingly. XD)
