Although Blender has come a long way, it's just the beginning. This year they have gained a lot of additional development funds, interest in the program is growing rapidly. I dare to assume that the coming 2020 will be even better than in 2019. For beginners, now is the best time to start learning this program. That it will be an industry standard is only a matter of time. For now, the competition is asleep and does not yet know that their multimillion corporation will be overtaken by a handful of people with passion and care. BTW the business model represented by Blender is the best that could have happened to the creative industry. The program raises funds because it is well developed, if it stops being developed it will lose funds. This is a complete opposite of a subscription (Autodesk, Adobe) so popular since recent years.
@xox87175 жыл бұрын
@@pixunPL not going to happen, clearly you don't know what's happening on the other side,Autodesk is making huge leaps with Bifrost 2.0, impressive improvements to Animation systems ,production scenes loading from hours to seconds ...etc & they are working on even bigger stuff for USD,MaterialX,Arnold GPU that Blender can't even handle, so Blender probably will never be an industry standard for a long long time :)

My only concern as a blender user and longtime Mac user is that blender doesn't drop full Mac support. With apple foregoing OpenGL and OpenCL for Metal. It makes me happy that Ton has thought about the whole organizational structure and institute supporting the application for the future and hopefully those concerns (although Mac users are a small portion of blender users), will not be left by the wayside.
@d.v.48995 жыл бұрын
Well, he already said that they will be moving to Vulkan and that concerning that Apple is not willing to work on bringing Vulkan to Apple products they can't do anything to help. Supporting one more (and honestly pretty useless api) would mean a lot of work that can be invested into development. You can check this by watching Blender Today video where he was the guest. The episode was after Blender got 1,2 Millions from Epic.

Covfefe Dk I was waiting for the comment and now that it’s landed, well it wasn’t so bad. Yeah but in all seriousness, Apple have been a**es I just am so entrenched in their system and there are many benefits it’s just this Metal transition is a pain. I must say big developers who have the resources like Blackmagic and Adobe going to Metal have seen amazing performance bumps. It’s just blender that I’m worried about... but apparently MoltenVK translator to Metal performs even better than native OpenGL. So hopefully they can at least stick with that due to lack of resources. Just crossing fingers
@nicolaselhani5 жыл бұрын
@@d.v.4899 my friend just sent me that. Yeah exactly that's actually pretty good news because in a silver lining way because Vulkan is obviously the future of cross-platform and MoltenVK is working great so far and will only get better. It's the tool that translates Vulkan to the macOS architecture. And that's crazy from Epic how far it's come...
