If you wondering why you can't see the text glow while editing it, this might help. First, When changing render engine to eevee in the render properties, turn on bloom. Next at the top right of the viewport, there's four sphere options, the farthest right looking like a reflective glass sphere, that should allow you to see the text glow without rendering it.

For those interested, you can also obtain this flashing effect by separating the different objects and performing a pseudo-random function which takes as input "info object -> random" and a value node with keyframes (which gives a concept of time) Good video!

What is obvious to you isn't always obvious to someone trying to follow along. I didn't get the neon effect until I went back and discovered your settings at 1.45. You have Bloom turned on, plus ambient occlusions, screen space reflections and motion blur.

Turn on Bloom in the Scene tab to get the bloom effect. Took me a while to figure that out.

Compiling my top 20 go-to KZbin TUTs - you're def way up in there D3D! - Many thanks for your education:) There's a buzz I get when someone like yourself explains something in way that even I can understand, I love learning and understanding how things work. Short cuts/add-ons are great if you know your stuff, ie when in a production environment - can save time. But if you're learning I say, don't get too distracted with all the unnecessary add-ons - instead do the spade work in blender vanilla and understand how to get there/problem solving etc. In the long run you will save more energy and time than any add-on can provide.

I struggled for a while with the project from view leading to a UV unwrap that moved parts of the letters differently than in the video. Realized that I had typed "Neon" instead of "NEON". How would I stop this from happening if I wanted to use lower case letters? Thanks!

Make sure you choose preview mode before change color, or it would not be visible as the default is solid mode

In version 2.80b after saving the frame for texture rotation. On the timeline and the graphic editor I don't see any markers for the rotated texture.

Does Project from View not work with cycles in 2.9? When I select all my vertices and press U, no menu pops up. I've tried going into F3 and searching but nothing showed up. Also tried checking my key mapping in the settings and there was no UV Mapping keybind in the settings

Increase your frames. Here his end(120) frame us 360°. But if u gor for 240 frames. Ur end frame should have 360°

Mickey Perry it makes it not show the whole texture on the object, just one pixel, making it look like it blinks, try it with a different texture coordinate plug and see how that looks

2.8 2.81 the latest export obj with textures no way it does not happen so do you know what the updates are doing mtl files not recognised no texture import its happening because the old blender 1 file has been forgotten now you got mtl and apps cannot see it so word is copy textures into obj so no info o how to do it if you know about this please tell thanks

Very good video for a noob who has NEVER done animations before. However, for you noobs out there PLEASE READ THIS in case you have the issue of the keyframes not inserting. I spent an hour googling this only to figure out how stupidly simple it was. MAKE SURE YOU'RE CLICKED ON THE OBJECT AND THE MAPPING NODE BEFORE YOU TRY TO INSERT OR IT WILL NOT APPEAR. That is all. Where you change it to eevee look under that area and make sure Ambient Occlusion, Bloom, Screen Space Reflections, and Motion blur are all turned on :)

Hi! I hope I’m not too late but he changed the view mode to render which is in the top right corner under options, it goes from the full circle to the last one. I’m not sure what key is used because I’m a beginner but pressing on the circles will do just fine!
