Love this, but this is approaching geometry node territory, so you should definitely look into that. Most of these things are fairly easy, quick, and endlessly customable in geometry node. LOVE THE CHANNEL!

As far as I know, you can't make actual tesselation in geonodes. I mean you can distribute on faces but can't make the instances deform accordingly to faces scale.
@MicheleoTuTo
@MicheleoTuTo Жыл бұрын
@@DINOX86 you might be right, I never actually made an exact tesselation, but similar, easier things. I can see a way of doing it, you can access to faces' scale and use it for the instances' scale, but can't say it for sure just now!
@DINOX86
@DINOX86 Жыл бұрын
@@MicheleoTuTo yes there is the Face Area node which gives face total surface size but don't give info about width and height so this exact tesselation effect is near to impossible in geonode. However I think someone managed to sort of capture these info with heavy math going on.

Amazing ideas and uses for the tissue addon. To apply the tissue addon, instead of exporting to FBX and importing the mesh to another Blender project; you could simply add another object, add a geometry node setup and then import the tessellated mesh to the node setup via "Object info" and connect that to the output, then apply the geometry node modifier or just "convert to mesh". Done! It's just a one node setup.

This is actually super smart and also one of the only things I actually know how to do with geometry nodes LOL

really cool breakdown, u can also try this using geometry nodes like extrude and scale elements for pattern. and curve to mesh for spiral shape.

I don't think you need to do that whole geonodes work around to apply the tissue tessellation, pretty sure! It looks like when you apply the effect, there is an option (set to "on" by default) to use modifiers...this means that you aren't applying the effect directly, but storing it in a modifier stack. I simply turned those switches off and then I was able to merge by distance and access the geo directly. I removed the links to the source object (inside the tissue tesselate menu) just to be sure and it appears to have applied the modifiers.
@attimp4
@attimp4 Жыл бұрын
Interesting, I was under the impression that setting allowed for use within the modifier stack, so tessellation would be applied last after calculating the modifiers. But if what you did works that could be helpful. Also interesting choice from the devs.

How did you duplicate the speckle material in the end? I am trying to merge it with the material but cant seem to figure it out..
@attimp4

Just take the output of the mix shader and feed it into another mix shader with a noise texturing driving the mix. It's the same as adding the speckles the first time.

About your bio: "I am an idiot He/They" When should I use "he", and when should I use "they"? Can I say: "Atti's videos are awesome. They is one of the best Blender artist, and he is also very inspiring."?? I'm just confused.

Yo, He/Him is totally fine as well as They/Them. They/Them are just neutral pronouns. Typically you would use "They" in place of "he" and use "them" in place of "him". It sounds more complicated than it is lol. I appreciate you asking though
