this annoys me only because Ive been sat online all day trying to figure out how to make a small tube-shaped cable and I could only find stuff that never works, and all the stuff ive been watching was for 2020 blender 3.0 or something, thank god I found this video

Thanks for the video, around around the 2:00 mark I attempt to change the curve of the cable and I right click on the line I get a Curve Context Menu. I need to use G and R keys to "Grab" and "Rotate" . What am I doing wrong?

I need this hose to join with other objects but it won't do so without thinning out. I included the nurbs circle and hit ctrl+j to join everything but it still wouldn't do so without going back to a curve instead of a hose. Any tips?

I reeeeally wanna be able to change the curve like you do but it doesn´t work for me with right click for some reason. Is there a way to set up the mouse so it works like it does in most tutorials? Because if I choose right mouse to grab, then I can´t right click to shade smooth for example. But if I choose left mouse button to grab I can´t move the curve and have to switch over which is very annoying. I have a three button mouse and don´t see why there is a problem. Are the factory settings this way in Blender and all you gurus have changed them? Please help

The only thing I can think of is in Object Properties there is the geometry tab, extrude may have a value in it or maybe somehow scaled it on one of the axis.
