Thank you for helping reinforce my decision to use Rhino ... And to resist the time I'd waste trying to learn Blender!

Actually he don't use blender for precision modelling and don't know the way of using blender.

You can make custom orientation in blender to move the roof in slanted way.

I use both Rhino and Blender, I didn't know people still use SketchUp? :D
@vu_derArchitektКүн бұрын
😂 yes... These are people stuck in 2006 , don't wanna learn any "new" software. (Blender and Rhino on that year were bullshit, but now 2025 they improved a lot)

Sketchup is for professenial use , archeticts favorite , with some plugins u can accomplish x3 fast than blender
@Emmanuel7217 сағат бұрын
Sketchup is more for professionnals. as an architect, i do the exact same thing 4times faster with sketchup than with blender or rhino, and for the render part twinmotion gives me perfect realistic results in a very short time too. I use rhino only when i need to use parametric design with grasshopper, and blender just to learn it if someday i want to play with animations or scupting

seems like you're not really aware of SketchUp use I'm still using in product designing.

The speed of modelling of Rhino and Sketchup are levels above. But blender still has advantages, like the render engines and animation. I considered them as the BIG 3

Adam don't use blender for architectural work hence you find it difficult. I use blender for all my architectural work and I will say that there are way more advanced method to do this thing in blender
@xanzuls23 сағат бұрын
That's not correct. Those are different tools for different jobs. Blender is made for VFX, animation etc. where you are not measuring your extrudes, for that modeling in Blender would be miles faster when you are using hotkeys for that, way faster than what he's showing.

Estaba aprendiendo blender como alternativa a sketchup pero veo que es menos practico, ya que rhino ni sketchup cuentas con licencia educativa. alguien conoce una alternativa ?

That was the slowest way to make a plane in blender i've ever seen in my life lmao. Bro's using all the wrong workflows in Blender. Like Blender does have the same tool that he used in two other software to add a plane but instead of using that, he used the slowest and most overcomplicated workflow i've ever seen. It's also very obvious that Blender is not made for that kind of precise modeling workflow, it's a tool for vfx, game etc. artists so when you are gonna use your eye instead of measuring every extrude, you can work miles faster and if you use hotkeys then you can work faster than you can think.
@AdamArchh21 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Yes, Blender has not always been the best option for precise and measured modeling. However, this does not mean that you will never need measurements while modeling. Simply creating a surface and scaling it to achieve the desired dimensions is quite difficult and does not always yield accurate results.
@AdamArchh21 сағат бұрын
That's why I preferred the commonly used method in Blender of adding a surface, centering it, and then extruding it. In Blender, you cannot add a point to the scene without enabling certain add-ons, which significantly slows down the workflow but provides the most accurate result.
@xanzuls19 сағат бұрын
@@AdamArchh Yeah if you wanna do precise modeling in Blender, there are various add-ons for that because it's not a common workflow for what the tool is made for which is games, VFX etc., that makes the workflow similar to those other softwares, yet you get to have all the other features and workflows in Blender. And the reason I mentioned saying Blender having the same tool for creating shapes and that works exactly like the tools shown in other software, and you could've used it. It's called "add cube" button in the side toolbar, it would've given you the same workflow as the software and more.

Rhino for sure! Blender is worst than Sketchup for EZ modelling!
@xanzuls23 сағат бұрын
They are made for different purposes, one is made for precise modeling and another is for artists for modeling. When you are going to use hotkeys to model in Blender, it's gonna be light-years faster than this.
@brunobordini769622 сағат бұрын
@@xanzuls I know that! I used Cinema 4D for many years and it's almost the same! Not so good for architects!

@@brunobordini7696 yes, that's the point. you can't use a pen and then blame a pencil eraser for not working.

At the beginning when creating the rectangle in Blender, it takes too many steps for nothing. Ex. 'Merge + Center' is useless.
