note: in the last step, u need to turn on "Refraction" and " Screen space reflections" in the Render Properties as well to make the Cornea transparent

at the iris masking part, my nodes aren't duplicated with the properties. i got stuck at 5:54 because the second color ramp is not toggled with any nodes even i changed the color. Is there anything that i can do?

@@scrap_cg Hi😊 I'm actually almost done creating the eyeball and I only have one last step left...idk why but when I hit the OSkey and click the screen space refraction check mark nothing happens 😭 Do you know how to solve this problem? I would really appreciate some help if possible ...Once again thanks for the amazing tutorial!!😆

@@BiBi-mu2jx Ahhh! I'm sorry I might had not explained render settings for EEVEE...Could you please check if 'Screen Space Refraction' is turned ON in render property? You need to turn on both 'Screen Space Reflections' and 'Refraction'. I hope you can solve this problem. Thank you!

I'm having a hard time managing the rotation in the mapping node. when masking the iris I ended up with fucked up location coordinates. something like X: - 2.59 and Y: - 2.5. Same when doing the noise texture for the iris. I couldn't center the gradient texture on the iris
@scrap_cg
@scrap_cg 3 жыл бұрын
I think I had the same experience as you! I don't know if it's a problem with the viewport, but I also felt like the texture was a little off from Iris.

@@aliamir85 i mean I had the eye in the end. it worked anyway. honestly I think you should just get it done, no matter how flawed it is at the end. in the next tutorial you will have an easier time, regardless how successful you were

@@kisme01 I just want to understand the nodes how it function exactly, not by following the steps blindly, so that I can repeat the tutorial myself with my own way. I still dont know why the iris did not fit the mesh exactly.

is there a way to add an emission shader to the iris for a slight glowing effect? Or is there a simpler way to achieve a Glow Effect?

Umm..🤔 Did you select the object and change 'Edit Mode'? If so, you could see its UV in the UV editor. I hope it works out for you!

the tutorial doesn't show everything in detail, i struggled through the whole process and it took me 6 hours to replicate that eye. But it's absolutely worth it. Give it another go. Don't do tutorial hopping, this is the worst thing you can do learning wise

@@kisme01 I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If I hadn't edited the video, it would have been a very long video, and I thought that would make it difficult to understand, so I edited it, but it may have had the opposite effect.😢 I will do my best to make a better video next time! Thank you for watching!

@@scrap_cg no no, your video is an absolute treasure. I'm new to blender. It took me so long because I probably should've brought some knowledge with me before doing your tutorial. UV mapping, shaders and nodes were new to me. I needed to run at .25 speed to see what kb shortcuts you use sometimes. Also when you added new nodes they somehow auto connected to existing nodes. it didn't do that for me, so I had a hard time figuring out which nodes should get connected, especially when you swapped the connections because you were not satisfied or you made mistakes. I then needed to capture the exact frame in the video to see what's actually going on. Also you were constantly zoomed in in the node pane. I believe there was one second in your video where you actually zoomed out and showed all nodes at the same time. but then the low resolution made it really hard to see which output gets connected to which input. But man, you're putting serious knowledge out there! Your video probably doesn't classify as tutorial, but rather watching a pro doing his work. I know it's hard to crop the video down, especially when you have hours of footage. You did a good job! As I said, I'm new to Blender, but I managed to chew through it and got the expected result. I'm currently trying to separate the mesh to apply a different material to the sclera, so that i can apply subsurface scattering
