I got a problem that I like to know the answers to. I like to know how to render the animation of a cape in my blender animation. in rendered mode, the cape does flow the way I want it to but when I render the animation, the cape is stiff in its original form before programing it to flow like cloth. Can you help me know how to make the cape flow while the animation is being rendered? I use blender render and my blender is the 2.79 version. P.S. i find cycles render complicated.

One big thing that blender lack for better clothing is inbuilt garment geometry generator. 3Ds max has Garment Maker modifier for it. In blender you have to manually subdivide geometry when with garment maker it generates it automatically. Marvelous Designer, for instance, generates geometry similar way. I wish someone will make some addon to replicate that feature.

Ok I followed this to add a cape to my character and the cape is colliding to bones :s, I had add a collision phisics to my character but it seems the bones heritage it.. how can I fix that ? The bones causing this problem are the one that control my elbow pointg.

Hmmm, not sure. But you could just apply the physics as an animation, then just export it as a regular .fbx with anims! :)

GREAT! So I downloaded the advanced rig by BlackPlazmaStudios, a rig made by Pixelfrosy and put up for download by Arbiter617. So in the rig, I don't get too much of whats going on, since it's so advanced. If you have the same rig, then you would probably know how to attach the 'cape' to the rig's back. I think I'll be able to do it...somehow

Cycles and Eevee are only visual. Just the way it looks will change :)

Kiefer Narwandi May not be the best grammar, but it's clickability works marvelously. Perhaps is should be read as "How to: Cloth." Instead of "How to Cloth". Definitely works better than fitting the words "How to Make Cloth Simulations in Blender" 😉 People respond to few, bigger, bold words instead of 12 smaller words. Doesn't really matter too much 👏👏😉

Why everyone make tutorials about curtains, capes, towels, flags etc when they teach cloth simulating? I mean no one teachs anything about how to make cloth and set it's physics for characters. There are billions of tutorials about these simple piece of fabrics but there's none about character clothes. This sucks

Setting the physics for characters is the same process for creating clothes for a model. However, once the cloth physics are created, you must parent the edge to the character. There are multiple tutorials on ACTUAL clothing simulation, however, this specific tutorial is only for a cloth simulation, not clothing. Someone asked me to create a tutorial on standard cloth. I try to keep my tutorials simple... so this tutorial was just for the basics of cloth - so that in the future I could make other tutorials more in-depth, branching off the basics. Many people just want to make a towel, or a table cloth, or a bed sheet... this would help them. I had someone recently ask me how to make a cape, in which I'm going to make soon. Stay tuned, for cloth physics in the style of a cape :)
