Great video, but I think you forgot to mention the key uses for these softwares. As professional animator & film director in the field, these are the general uses for each software in professional work: After Effects: Motion Graphics, Compositing, 2D animation, very basic 3D animation (2.5D) Blender: 3D animation, 2D animation, VFX. Nuke: 3D Compositing, high level Rotoscopy Nuke is not an animation software per say. It's used mainly for high level 3D compositing. Blender & After Effects however, are built for animation from the ground up. Hope this helps.

Blender = 3D Package Nuke = High End Compositing Package After Effects = Motion Graphics Tool They all serve different purpose. Doesn't make sense to compare them. Instead you should have a workflow or build a pipeline between them for your work.

do you use it
@jeffreyspinner92134 жыл бұрын
Oh no you didn't! BlackMagic's Davinci Resolve (or the standalone Fusion)... didn't make it and Blender did when I can't even color correct because it's so slow even on a single RENDERED picture! Nuke's free version is useless even to learn because you can't learn the power of it with the tools disabled, and the real license is prohibitive to learn. That's why I use Resolve for more adv stuff and Ae for fun stuff. PS: Ae is not trivial to learn esp will all the plugins you need to get it up to speed.
@lawrencedoliveiro91044 жыл бұрын
Takes quite a few months to get up to speed with AE, though. How long did you spend on Blender?
