I am an SLP;Try your hardest to not put the schwa vowel after the sounds. If you say "k-uh-a-t" for {"cat" you are adding the extra 4th sound Uh when in actuality "Cat" has 3 sounds) Practice saying the pure sounds without a "schwa or uh" added. Practice the S-F-T-K-M-N-P sounds; they are all are one sound not two. ( SSSSSSSS- not SSSSUH) The voiced sounds/consonants are tricky, but try to not say the schwa vowel as loudly. (G-D-B) are some of the voiced consonants. Vocabulary: Also be sure the child truly knows the definition of the words LETTER vs. SOUND; as well as what FIRST-LAST and SAME DIFFERENT means.
