Those so called off-brand products are typically made by the same manufacturers as the premium brands. It's the secret of success for ALDI. Manufacturers can max their production capacities (with slightly changed recipes) and sell their products for lower prices under another name without damaging their original brand's recognition.

Been shopping at Aldi's for 30 years. They have improved soooooo much. I buy just 1 of a product to see if I like it. Love that they have so many organic products now. Can foods have organic choices also. The produce is really good. I buy the jasmine rice in 5 lbs.bag. It says that it comes from Thailand. With all the plastic rice being sold,mostly from China I would like to know if I can trust this rice. I save so much on groceries at Aldi's store. It's my favorite store. I live on 840.00 a month disability so every dollar counts. I see the prices at Walmart and other stores. Can't touch that. If you don't shop at Aldi's, you are throwing money away.

My husband is a truck driver. Been trucking for 30 years. He's told me of so many times he picks up name brands at one end of the company and off brand at the other end. Same thing! Even with dog food. Lots of food products are sold this way. You are paying for the label, labor costs, and greedy companies. Aldi's has so many ways to cut down on costs and passes the savings on to consumers. With food costs so high, I see a great future for Aldi's. Go Aldi's!

That was absolutely so enjoyable, adorable couple. I initially started taking my elderly mother to Aldi (to save her money) to do her groceries. At first I was so silly and stuck up and thought oh no I am not buying anything here. But as time went by, I too now enjoy sooooooooooo many items from Aldi, its cheaper, but the quality in most items is very very good and sometimes nicer than the name brands. I thoroughly recommend Aldi to people, give it a go and at the same time save money! So many of us have hang-ups because if its cheaper it must be inferior, but tbh its best to not think that way and give things a go.

I love Aldi, so I thoroughly enjoyed this tasting. I personally have found I like Aldi brand on any product I have tried with the exception of the mini wheats cereal. I like the Aldi well enough that the difference in price would be my purchasing choice. If you haven't tried the mandarin oranges in the can they are superb. The little segments are so plump, no stragley bits in the can, not overly sweet....as you can see I think they are the best. All the fruit and veggies I have tried I would use over name brand also the frozen vegetables are just as great. I was a loyal Kroger brand customer but I have switched to Aldis. I love Aldis, when it first came to our area about 12 years ago I refused to go there. The atmosphere was so bizarre to me lol. I used to think dear God what the heck are in those products that they can sell them at such a low cost. I kept hearing you have to go to Aldis , you have to just try it, OMG I can't believe you won't even go in to the store. Lol I finally did give in but it took me 2 years b4 I made the leap. I can't tell you what a dumbass I was for putting it off for so damn long. I laugh because in my mind I thought though I am NOT wealthy, I was concerned that if I ran into someone that may know me would think, awww she must be low on funds and can't shop at the Huge Giant Eagle directly across the street. Now I laugh bcz I was an idiot for caring and also bcz the "Rich" people are the ones pulling up in there Cadillacs and Lincolns all shopping at Aldis. I am a HUGE fan of Aldis and tell others who say the same idiotic things I used to say just how great this place is.I can tell you one thing I have done the taste test on "Spagettios " name brand "Beefaroni" name Brand as opposed to the Aldis and hands down ALDIS was the winner bcz the name brands had a watery consistency and it was more like soup, the Aldis brand was more like a pasta. It's a great place for a family with growing kids!!

In my recent visit to the US (transit stop in Charlotte) I noticed quite a lot of differences between different grocery store "culture" in the EU (especially German and Dutch stores) and stores in the US. Here in Germany there is only a small number of very large shops (e.g. Walmart got bullied out of competition here about ten years ago), a decent amount of rather expensive super markets and a whole lot of ALDI like shops (ALDI north and south, LIDL and some others). Most German stores offer a decent variety of "original" and store-owned cheaper food brands, so everybody has the option to choose. Another interesting thing I've noticed is that food is generally cheaper in Germany while sodas/pops/softdrinks or whatever you wanna call those sugary drinks are (a lot) cheaper in the US and come in larger bottles aswell (the maximum size for Coke here is 2l e.g. but usually they sell it in sizes of 1 or 1,5l).

I like the Aldi cherry toaster pastries ( if you can find them) more than Pop Tarts brand. Also the iced tea mix.

Loved the taste tests. Please do more. Although, after the granola bar taste-test, I can't believe your husband brushed the crumbs from the table onto the floor.

Don't use the Aldi Brand for A-1 Sauce; we did not care for it at all. Had a weird taste. I usually love all of Aldi's products, but NOT that one. I splurge for brand name brand A-1 sauce.

This is most interesting. ALDI is my usual first when I'm food shopping. Quality is good, prices are fantastic ! I'd like to see another video like this comparison.

The real difference is that aldi isnt chock full of chemicals and sugars and preservatives... and the American brands are basically nothing but chemicals... and we are so use to eating all of those chemicals that when we eat things without the chemicals we can taste the lack of them... we have been conditioned to enjoy the chemicals... it's truly sad that the FDA let's the food companies get away with so much... 😥

My kids prefer the 'snacks' at Aldi VS the name brand mainstream brands. They say the granola bars and cookies aren't as sweet. I'm not a coffee drinker, my husband and our oldest prefer the Aldi German Roast coffee over a lot of different brands. they say its strong and smooth. My daughter prefers the Aldi Cheez its. Aldi also has a standard where they don't allow as many preservatives and msg in their products.

That’s awesome u get Krispy creme pods..for some reason my son carter has a meltdown ( crying ) when we approach Aldi so have to either really distract him or go by ourselves..but I’ll have to start comparing..I did it with milo and I could taste the difference

It definitely depends on the item. Most things I love, some things I don’t.

Please do more shows like this one. I found this quite fun. Good job at a trueful experment. I shop mosely at winco and l often find the store brands closely tatse about the same but not always. When I bought canned sliced beets, the store brand tasts blaw and. Not worth paying less for them. By for now. 😀

I find it funny when people that shop at Trader Joe's turn up their noses at Aldi's. They have the same suppliers! Aldi's here is operated by Aldi Nord and TJ's is operated by Aldi Süd.

A couple of weeks ago I wanted a Frito Pie. I was going to Aldi's so I decided to try the Clancy brand corn chips and the Brookdale Chile and Beans. I liked the corn chips better than Fritos; they were not as salty and I was really surprised that I liked the chile more than Hormel or Wolf Brand. I always try something from Aldi's if I need it. I will say that I did not care for their all beef hotdogs but that is the only thing that I would not purchase again from them.
@BlessedJess6 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the chili but the corn chips are my favorite! Totally agree about them being less salty. 😊

I have done this with the mint chocolate and the coconut delights or something like that lol brands from Aldi and the cookies we all buy outside the store a few times a year from those cute little girls but at almost 5 dollars a box versus adli at I think the mint ones were 99 cents and the cocunut ones were like 1.39 so worth the cost difference.
@BlessedJess6 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Totally agree!
@Amberwood2656 жыл бұрын
I love Aldi and I do agree with you the chips can be a little on the salty side. I don't mind their Dorito version, which I love, but the Aldi version is definitely not as spicy. I love their BBQ chips. Omg. Their peanut butter cookies covered in chocolate are I swear the exact same as Tagalons/Peanut Butter Patties that Girl Scouts sell. I don't like the Aldi cheese-its, but I don't like the regular Cheez-It's much. I prefer Cheese Nips, but they do make fabulous breadcrumbs for chicken and pork. Mmm. Love the video and have a great week~
