Dumb charmed fan trivia: they did make a page in the book for the spell to get knowledge out of Misha Collins head, just was never shown on camera in close up despite them having filmed second unit angles of it for the edit. It's actually visible earlier in the episode when they're flipping to the thoughts spell.

This was back when Phoebe was the Paige of the show. Its very odd how Phoebe was the one who wanted to always help people and do the right thing, it wasn't until she met Cole her priorities completely changed. While Piper is still grumpy (that's her thing past Season 1) I still like her sarcasm and was fine with her just being the sister doing her own thing in a way that's not a danger to anyone around her. Plus she did have plots where she would get involved in this very season. Prue is still by far the best Charmed sister tho.

I like the thought hearing spell scene. It does reveal their pettiness but it seems natural and sisterly as opposed to the abject hatred seen in later seasons. They still had some natural chemistry at this point.

I would also add along with the Charmed Ones being far more actively earlier seasons that their powers weren't always a solution for demon vanquishes. Sometimes demons would get away, and coupled with Piper's exploding power potions became just as bad later because they became the same as Piper exploding, often functioning in the same way whereas earlier it was clear said potion was made for particular demons, later on it was like everyone could explode a demon both this and Piper's exploding power came at the expense of other resources like Paige's orbing or using a spell.

This is what drives me nuts about New Charmed. The original series had a ton of lore & if they just picked the good stuff out they could have avoided all the retconning that went on during the original series. Charmed 2.0 didn't have to go with a bunker & teleporting to hunt monsters & save people.

Good points about this episode: Phoebe cares about the innocent of the week, not herself. The days when she was a likeable and layered character. A baby faced Mischa Collins. Prue gets to epically bitch slap Jack Sheridan and his sexy twin for trying to inspect her before Jack could decide whether to date her. Not cool dude. Bad points: Neighbour Dan aka Greasy Butt Crack Poo Flap. Oh Neighbour Dan. Why? Piper gets to be obnoxious even with or without the hearing thoughts spell. " Screw that innocents life! I'm leaving to suck the soul out of that greasy butt crack poo flap for a potential boyfriend who I am only dating to make Leo jealous! Am I convincing as a human?"

I guess the Supernatural brothers were never SUPER great to each other, but this does depend on the season and they were more genuinely funny. The biggest problems with Sam and Dean are that they have problems that, in a good show, would change or improve with character development, but someone on the writing staff decided they weren't allowed to have character development.
