@pinklemonjuice25275 жыл бұрын
Actually they do see black because black absorbs all wave lengths which means all light so black isn’t a color scientifically but I guess I’m not everyone. Edit: I’m just going to add more because it seems that most of you are confused: black is the result when there is no light, intensity,energy,frequency or wavelength and a lot of you are saying that since they can’t see than they see no colors (including black) but technically black is nothing considering everything I just said, but tbh I was getting confused too reading a lot of these replies. So pretty much even if you are blind you will see black as hard as that is too imagine because black is the result of what you already read so I will explain no further and sorry if your still confused. And please don’t type “they can’t see so they can’t SEE black” because if you want to be that specific than it will be too difficult to put into words. Also thanks for reading my reply because it is long to read but it seems like there is always more to say.

It's actually very simple. Take a look at my message. You have some angle of view, right? I mean, you see some "picture". Without moving your eyes, can you notice where are the borders of what you see? Probably more or less you can see them, not some sharp borders, but more or less you know where you don't see anymore. So now, still without moving your eyes, keep following some imaginary dot which moves across the "border", and goes around your head, for example behind your heard or for example to the right (where you can't see anymore). What do you "see" there? Is it black? White? Orange? Probably none of these. That's nothing. And I believe that's what blind people "see". It's just nothing. Not black or anything, just nothing. EDIT: Oh, just noticed she said it in the video. "Being blindless is like seeing back of your head". Then I don't understand why people comment about it, she gave quite nice explanation.

as someone who is almost blind (I have a little sight still in my right eye but not much) I can tell you that it's not so bad. You just adjust. You're strong and can get through anything. Doesn't mean you still shouldn't appreciate things. But you'd be fine.

I think what the "Do blind people cry?" question means if they tear up or if they secrete tears from their tear glands. Of course unless the tear glands aren't damaged, the person can still cry tears..
@joannestark30233 жыл бұрын
This was a question I posed to my surgeon the morning I went in to have my right eye removed. The tear glands are left intact during eye removal, so yes, unless something has happened to those glands, we can still cry.

Wanna know what a blind person sees? Cover one of your eyes with your hand, you have to keep the eye that you covered closed. Anyways, what do you see in that eye? Nothing. In the other eye you can see everything, but the eye that you’re covering has no vision. No black, no white, nothing. Short version: Cover one of your eyes with your hand, and you will see what blind people see. Which is nothing-

Genuine question here: what type of jobs are available to blind people? It seems to me that so many jobs rely on vision. Not trying to be ignorant, just genuinely curious.
@aurastar0274 жыл бұрын
There are several jobs available. There is an institution called Vocational Rehabilitation that assists individuals with disabilities in training and work. This includes vision and hearing loss. There are accommodations that can be made to make a workplace accessible without losing integrity in the job. Googling Vocational Rehabilitation can give you more info regarding job specifics.

My mom was blind as well as her husband. You’d be very surprised at what blind or visually impaired individuals can do as her husband was a radio sportscaster for many year’s! I always wanted to know how that worked and what didn’t make sense to me made sense to him. You may think ‘how dies a blind person have a position in sportscasting’? He relied on all of his other senses, he had different ways technology that assisted him as well as having assistance from people who were sighted. My mom could navigate around the entire city of Chicago better than a lot of people who could drive cars or otherwise. It was incredible watching my mom do thing’s that most people with vision could do. I hold people with any type of disability with the highest regard and respect even more so because I know what it’s like living n a home where a parent might occasionally need an extra hand. Don’t ever think because somebody may not be able to see or hear or otherwise that they’re any less intelligent or don’t know what’s going on. My mom always knew when I was into something or up to no good. She had those other senses razor sharp! I give visually impaired individuals tremendous respect and admiration.
