About Trixie levitating herself: Twilight was the first to do that, back in the season 3 premiere, when she caught herself after falling down Sombra's hidden stairs. Both she and Trixie just held and then lowered themselves to the ground, whereas Starlight did the full flying thing, ascending instead of just landing with magical help. Still, quite an improvement in Trixie's powers.

My thoughts: 2:00 If Cadence and Flurry could come to the show, then you'd think that Sunburst would come too, or at least have a reason for not coming. 3:17 Wait, so Trixie has been travelling around all this time? Huh. I thought that she just chose to live in Ponyville long-term now. 4:29 Trixie is moonwalking, your argument is invalid. 4:44 Starlight taught Trixie her flight spell! Trixie can fly! I repeat, TRIXIE CAN FLY! 6:12 Puzzles and board games, I get, and the raft could be useful. But what the heck are "Campfire spices"? And why does Starlight have a collection of them? Regardless, I bet Zecora approves. 6:31 Is that the same cannon from "No Second Prances"? Callback win! DING. 7:50 I love how aware Starlight is of all of the Mane Six tropes we've gotten used to at this point. Also, I love how last time this joke came up, the Mane Six really did sing a song, and this time it was Starlight and Trixie's turn. Yay. 9:41 Starlight is a fan of Rio. 13:03 That explains why nopony like Party Favor ever tried sneaking out at night to get their cutie mark and try embracing their talent again for one night. 13:14 Starlight looks so much like a ninja right now, I keep half-expecting her to throw a shuriken made of magic. Also, I have to give Starlight credit for not doing what Trixie did and waking her up just to shut her up. 15:37 This was the moment where the Starlight's infamous storm cloud of rage should have made a return. Missed opportunity. 16:20 Douche move, Starlight. However! This is a rather nuanced moment for her character. This is a moment where her character flaws and her character development are colliding with one another. On one hand, Starlight's impulsive control freak persona who can't understand other's emotions or properly gauge reactions is rearing its ugly head again. And this is technically her biggest character flaw, discounting her magic addiction. It might be something that she keeps working on, but it's not necessarily something that she'll truly ever get over. On the other hand, Starlight is looking at this problem logically rather than emotionally. Before she grew as a character, Starlight would either guilt-trip Trixie into getting rid of the caravan, and we'd see Starlight be oblivious to Trixie's feelings about it, or she'd try to use her magic to make the situation more enjoyable(First thing that comes to my mind is shape-shifting the caravan against Trixie's wishes. and/or mind control). Here, she just thinks that she's doing Trixie a favor, and improving their condition at the same time. Plus, she does it WITHOUT abusing her magic! To Starlight, she's trading a cramped cottage that's making them get on each other's nerves, for a spacious mansion and a set of robes that make her look like a sorcerer from Dr. Strange. Logically, it is the better choice, but that's because Starlight isn't factoring in Trixie's sentimental attachment to the caravan due to ignorance of it.

This episode was all kinds of fun, not bad at all. The only downside is that we didn’t make it to Saddle Arabia. Unfortunately, the MLP staff didn’t have the time to design the residence and the place itself and because it wasn’t in the script of the episode; so says Big Jim. As understandable as that seems, we are way overdue of exploring this elusive location and its inhabitants.

Yeah... We'd like to see the origins of the horse. No, really. Been having this theory going around in my head kind of based on the origins of the human race. The original human is from Africa, original horse from Saddle Arabia, and the modern western human is the modern western pony. ;)

Yeah, it's similar how a famous musician's guitar can sell for several times what others of the same model and year regularly go for. Plus, look at that custom paint job. Trixie's cutie mark is all over that thing. As far as Trixie memorabilia goes that thing's almost up there with her hat and cloak.

I tried so hard to avoid spoilers, but they just popped up randomly in my suggestions. I haven't watched any clips or read about the plots. So I still don't know how the episodes will play out. I like the episode too, but I think the resolution was a bit rushed, or at least minimally spoken. And it could have ended in a way that still had the trip work out. On a minor note, Trixie was right about the budget, but should have given a better reason for standing in that long line for food.

He wanted to swap it with Trixie´s back in Ponyville (even before knowing she will travel with her assistant in it). -> Ideally Starlight should have got her own small cart, as even with his big one they would have to still sleep together. It is implied that he trades on silk (stereotypical for "middle east" road merchant characters in a pseudo-medieval setting like Equestria); since he also had some "nice clothes" on the size and shape for Starlight (that he could not use himself); plus he did not wanted to take it to Saddle Arabia. He probably did not needed such a big cart for his travel BACK home [but rather one just big enough to house him plus the money/spices he colected]; something that would also be an advantage when having to sort through difficult places like the swamps and rivers. -> He got it while he was still "full of stuff" FROM Saddle Arabia that he wanted to sell through various towns of Equestria.

You know I happen to have a headcanon about that wagon. I think it actually used to belong to Trixie's father. Like it was his before he settled down in los-pegasus. So he decided to let her have it. Which would explain why she was so torn when she found out Starlight gave it away, she was in that wagon her whole life. Her childhood. Everything. All those memories and Starlight just gave it away without a thought. Yes that's my head cannon, and it is fully loaded and ready to fire.

point of order There is one another unicorn that has levitated them self Twilight season 3 episode 2 she caught herself when she fell down the stairs she only did it for a short time but Twi was first.

Actually, the levitating spell that allows unicorns to 'fly' has been used by Twilight during the Crystal Empire, Part 2. As she was falling down the stairs to King Sombra's door, she levitated herself to avoid impact. This episode was great but OOF episodes 21-23 are just wonderful! (At least to me lol). I can't wait to see what this finale has in store!! S8 has definitely been one of my favorite seasons! 😊❤

Great episode!!! 2nd best of season 8 behind Horse Play. Starlight and Trixie always makes for a great episode. Although, that was pretty horrible of Starlight to barter with Trixie's property behind her back.

oh, i just remembered a fan-comic where Starlight DID get some food from the other vendor...and it made her VERY sick! "and THAT'S why no one else buys food there", says Trixie.

Bless you. The Road To....movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Had to watch those with my Mom while growing up. Funny stuff. At least I thought so when I was a kid. Also, Trixie's wagon is the first building/vehicle not to display the TARDIS Effect. Even the Friendship Express traincars are frigging HUGE inside. Ok. I'll stop talking now. 😋

33:18 Starlight did a lot of "travel" before by herself when she was developing her cutiemark removal spell... but she always had everything she needed and plenty of extra supplies. We only have a "reminescence" of Double Diamond meeting Starlight (and only Starlight, as he was her "right hoof pony" in their town because of the previous time they share together), up on the snow peaks path between mountains [he was there "driven&pushed" by his cutiemark to practice snowbard on the most difficult places], with her living alone already in those same "cave systems" she escaped at the end of S5E02 [it also explains why she carved an underground tunnel in her house, she learned how to make them long before building her village]. -> While not "loaded" with money; Starlight has never being a poor/humble pony [her father provided her with all of those things she had in her bedroom as a teenager foal... things he never sold when she abandoned her home]. In fact the whole "lack of a NEED" for making friendships to survive/prosper, plus how easy she adapted to living later as a Mayor (and on a castle with royalty) sugest that her family was always "a 1%er elite" just like Twilight´s parents.

"Camping" is something only the "lower class" does.... as they do not have a home that is comfortable enough to never feel the need to "go outside" except for things that actually do require a lack of ceilings (like flying kites). -> Same with "sport teams" like the Wonderbolts [or hoofball]; things Starlight was not even aware of their existence before befriending the mane six.

A lot of predictable plot lines this season, but it was still fun. As much as I love Starlight though she was definitely in the wrong. Also did anyone catch that they referenced the fact that they were only doing 9 seasons in the song that they sung? I found that pretty funny.
