Thanks for the Good tips! Before my long cane I had several falls on stairs. I learned then to use the hand rail, if one is there, and use my descending heal to find the edge of the steps by doing a sort of backward kick tapping the lip with my heal to locate it. Then tapping down. I also walked with the aid of a stability cane because of a bad knee. Using a long cane does make walking or climbing stairs a lot safer. 👍

Well done on this video! In case it helps when talking about steps, the vertical part of the stair is a "riser" (because is rises up), the horizontal part is the "tread", and the projecting edge where they meet is the "nose" or "nosing".
