I think it’s important to remember that about 75% of the time, most of these crimes are committed by someone the child knows. Teach your child to recognize signs of grooming, “okay touching” vs “not okay touching,” etc. Tell your child to scream, hit, kick, bite, etc and to immediately tell if ANYONE ever touches them inappropriately; this includes family, friends, babysitters, etc. Don’t scare them, but make sure they know the signs.

I wish my mother was wiser and taught me the things you mentioned in your post. She thought it was “sweet” that my elementary school principal took me and only me out for ice cream during lunch. She thought he took interest in me because I was sooo cute and endearing as a small girl due to my severe stutter and inability to articulate verbally, especially under stress or emotional upset. She was very, very wrong.

A few years back I was picking up my kids from elementary school. It was lightly raining and I saw a young girl crying and walking aimlessly around as if she was lost. She said she was waiting for her sister to pick her up but the sister didnt show up. So I told her we (myself, my daughter 9 and my son 6) would wait with her. Ten mins go by and still nobody shows up to get this kid. I offered my cell phone so we could call her mom or her sister but she didnt know ANYONES phone number!!! I was really unsure what to do at that point but eventually just offered to walk her home. This child did not live close to the school at all! She also lived in a completely different direction from me. Finally we get there and I knock on the door so I knew someone was home AND to tell whoever it was what had happend. The mom answers and I explain what happened. The damn woman could care less, and simply asked her kid where her sister was...... She never thanked me, and although thats not the point, it really bothered me. I had just walked her crying child 25 mins to her home and the lady didnt so much as smile in gratitude.

I was cleaning out my shed today, with my toddler playing alongside. It only took 10 seconds of me moving a box outside for him to vanish...my heart dropped and I panicked....he is glued to me and has never left my sight on his own so my mind went to the absolute worst case scenario, that someone had grabbed him. Thankfully I heard him just a few seconds later (felt forever), sobbing and terrified that he had lost sight of me, around the other side of the house. I am so heartbroken for innocent little Fayes family... those few seconds were terrifying for me, so I can't begin to fully imagine how much more gut wreching it has been for them.

Yep, i've whitnessed this once and i had nightmares for a while. A little girl at our local playground went out of sight when her mom had a long sip of water (was a hot day), when she couldn't see her Child she asked her friend, but she was bussy with her own toddler. She then began searching everyone began collecting their kids to search as well and a minute later she came out of the bushes... She followed a squirrel or something like that 🤷😅 this was a situation of less than 15 minutes but trust me, we all were scared and it wasn't even my child. I can't imagine having to endure that for hours or even days on end.

@M.Y.O.B. that makes sense to us, but they are trained to not show emotion. There is a reason for that. Have you ever been on the verge of crying and someone said something compassionate to you? Or even looked at you with compassion, hugged you, etc? For most people, that would make them start crying or start crying harder. It's incredibly hard to understand someone that is crying or get information from a hysterical person. My partner's grandma went missing 8 or 9 years ago (before we met) . She lived in a small village in the Netherlands all her life. She was in her late 60s. She had no money or documents with her. To this day she was never found, and because of no leads, she's legally declared dead. There were searches everywhere with dogs, scuba divers, helicopters, warm detectors. Not a trace... I wish that someone would bring attention to her case. The family is still so affected by her disappearance and has no closure. Missing cases that close with dead bodies are tragic, however, I find it even more horrifying not having any answer and be expected to keep living your life. I wish no one should ever experience having someone gone missing. The panic and the pain it is scarring you for life..

I think we should never compare pain. It all is awful in their own ways. Let everyone have their grieve and let's not make it bigger or smaller, that just feels so unfair. Both missing forever or being murdered both sound painful and cruel, and while I understand that never knowing is hard to move on from, I do wonder if you really can put something behind you when someone is murdered. Even I who lost my ill mother after 9 years of hospital visits, getting good news, getting bad news, I still have it difficult to truly accepting it. The "what if" always keep haunting at times. It's 20 years ago she died, and sometimes it still feels like it was yesterday, and than those questions keep popping in my mind, I could have done that better, I should have done that. I know it won't help anyone, and luckily lately it is easier to think of the happy things, but it still is hard. I think that in the end is how you deal with situations, no matter what the grief is, how you deal with it depends how your life will be. But that is easier said than done. After 20 years I am still busy with that part.

My 3 year old daughter is a “runner” and has a severe speech delay (doesn’t reliably come when called, especially when she’s having fun running away from mommy.) About a month ago, she bolted from my side in a crowded Walmart and disappeared. I was hysterical within 30 seconds, screaming her name, crying, begging for help from a crowd of disinterested strangers who basically ignored me (that’s Arizona for you.) An eternity later, maybe 5 minutes, I hear a young woman yelling “I’ve got her! I’ve got her!” I ran to her crying and thanking her and took my daughter in my arms. That day, I ordered a child harness and leash online. I had hoped to avoid this measure because people judge “leash parents” but I realized I don’t care. I refuse to go through that ever again.

I'll never forget the motorcade that brought Faye back from her autopsy in Charleston, it seemed to go on for miles. I have to give huge props to the City of Cayce Department of Public Safety. They handled this awful case with the utmost professionalism and diligence.

Many years ago, early 90's i knew of a girl who was kidnapped literally from her front door. Someone knocked, the parents were busy, one in the kitchen and one in the shower. So they assumed them being home it was safe to allow their daughter to open the door not expecting for someone to grab her and take her. Unfortunately she was found but not alive and after experiencing some horrible things. That kidnapping will forever be in my mind, the girl was the goddaughter of a neighbor of mine and she had a son whom she never left by himself or even play with other kids. I was around 11 and the kid maybe 4. She had asked me to play with him because she trusted me. I was kind of related to her because her sister was once married to my great uncle. However, we had never met before him passing away. She trusted me because she saw me everyday and knew my grandma, she also saw me caring for my little cousins. The night of the kidnapping she came to my house and asked my mom if I could babysit her son. I knew something bad happened for her to want to leave him alone with me. She went to help find the girl. She moved away a few weeks after that. Never saw her again.

I watch crime and murder cases alot, but this case really hit me hard. I can honestly say I had a lump in my throat. I just cannot fathom how any person can do or even think about killing an innocent child. I kinda wish he went to prison instead of being a coward. He would gotten a slow agonizing death from the inmates. Lastly, I could never do what these detectives do. I have so much respect for the detectives, officers, fbi, etc. The mental toll it does to a human, I can only see as a daily nightmare. But they still go out there everyday to try to stop this insanity from happening to one of us or family.

My heart is broken for this mother and family. It isn't a safe world for children anymore. - Our culture has us isolating ourselves and our loved ones, ever more from neighbors, and friends who are parents with the same goals of safety for our children. - But as mothers, we need to band together and help one another, take turns watching our littles in groups and keeping rules for safety. We all need to help one another.

Love this channel! Thanks for all your hard work!!!! You do these victims justice and treat their stories with dignity and respect!! I feel truly devastated after this story. I cannot imagine the horror that Faye went through and now her family left to their grief! Oh my, that buddy bench is so wonderful. What a strong woman Faye's mother is.

That little pink bike in the funeral procession just did me in. I am SO VERY SORRY, what a horrific ending!

It really touched me seeing the community come together for Faye’s family, especially the towing company owner.

In such a horrific tragic case, it’s uplifting to see all the love & acts of kindness & support from the community & officials that had worked on the case. The large amount of love for Faye & that it case always remained about her not the person who took her away. I hope she’s watching over her mama ♥️

I don't know how you carry on unless you have other children. I couldn't live with that pain..

@@smileyrawAgreed!! People must have other children… otherwise, suiciding would be something I’d be in BIG danger of doing.
