One of the things I enjoy about the 3D Clone Wars is that it doesn't really decanonize anything that happens in the micro-series. Volume 1 could easily take place inbetween Episode 2 and the 3D series while Volume 2 occurs after Ahsoka leaves. While Anakin and Obi-Wans snow adventure doesn't line-up anymore, I like to believe those events still happened albiet at a slightly different point in the timeline. Update: The novel Brotherhood referenced Windus fight on Dantoonie.

This WAS canonical Lucas-approved Clone Wars, moreso than anything from the EU. Grievous being injured in this cartoon is why he was coughing and always running away in Episode 3. This is how Palpatine was kidnapped from Coruscant. Then Disney decided to remove it from canon along with the other much less important Clone Wars tie-ins in one of a long string of dumb moves that added nothing to the universe but a potential future chance to cash in.

Honestly one of my favorite moments in Star Wars in general. The Force isn't just some powerful magic, it's something that exists in everything. The Nelvaanians' cave paintings show us that the Force has influenced them enough that some of them likely had a vision of Anakin's fall, and they misconstrued it into the legend of the _Holt Kazed._ We really need more of that in Star Wars media. Not Force-using species or individuals, but the Force influencing civilisations in the form of religious or spiritual beliefs.

I always found it silly that Windu could steer the droid fighter, but I just thought about it for the first time. There are two Force abilities that are similar; one more obscure, and I don't know how much it is in line with Lucas' canon, but Quinlan Vos hat telemetry. He could touch inanimate objects and through the Force know what happened to and around the object. So there can be might be a connection between the Force and inanimate objects. The other one is well established: Jedi can move objects through telekinesis. So why would Mace not be able, with enough training and knowledge, to manipulate and maybe even electrons to use something similar to telekinesis on a micro level?

I still think 2008 TCW is the better series by a fairly wide margin - More compelling characters, more interesting story arcs, a bigger impact on the franchise as a whole. Really, the only metric where 2003 CW might have the edge is action, and even then, not by that much - but this series will still always hold a place in my heart. Besides, it's unfair to really compare it to a series 33 times longer than it (Fun fact: TCW has a total runtime of _66_ hours and 30 minutes, if my math is right).

The pod race was necessary to show you Anakins flying skills and to support Obi-Wan saying he was already a great pilot when he met him. And it was a lot of fun.

I have posted it already in the bad batch okay Nailed it, brother you know is today just now. Fantastic list. And Ahsoka at number 1, spot on!! ya mean brotha I love Clone Wars Ahsoka, she is beautiful, badass, and absolutely amazing. she deserves the #1 character spot❤ Here is a cool thing, every time Cad Bane Has a 1 v 1 showdown with another guy who uses a blaster such as Hunter, or Boba Fett, Both characters pull their blasters out at the same time, and guess who shoots the other person first? Cad Bane, what an all-out legend. Hunter, leader of the Bad Batch with almost infinite Stamina and super-enhanced senses somehow lost that incredible sense to Cad Bane. I mean when I first saw Hunter I was like, “Omg this guy is so skilled, and no one can beat him with his abilities, But then when I saw Cad Bane shoot him for the First time I was like Huh, Cad Bane, best Bounty Hunter ever. Man, Cad Bane can overcome and outsmart a mutated clone who probably should have known when Cad Bane would shoot his blaster if his senses were that good. The reason Cad Bane is my favorite bounty hunter is purely because he has futuristic evil cowboy vibes Technically 2 characters in this list appeared earlier in another movie/show: Darth Maul and Asajj Ventress. Ventress is not exclusive to THIS Clone Wars, she appeared first in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars. When Pre Vizla is saying "Only the strongest...shall rule" his jaw moves SOOOO MUCH. When he said Maul spoke 31 words in the Phantom Menace I thought: "So many for real???" A character who appeared in The Clone Wars who I wish had more to do would be Embo I can think of a bad thing about Cad Bane: He wasn't the main villain Ashoka is probably my second favorite character Savage was likely originally meant as a means of reintroducing Maul and they really didn't know what to do with him afterward. I couldn’t agree more about the Cad Bane take The fact that Obi-Wan Kenobi isn’t on this list and Asoka is number 1 makes me really mad You know when Fives was on Kamino or Coruscant and Palpatine said like the order 66 He should have recorded it the clone armor can record sounds yeah, also he shouldn’t Have got the DC17 he should have or gone out in the open he should’ve just stayed in the shadows. such a good video!! I would personally put Bo-katan above savage tbh but that's just me, and I agree with everything else My favorite clone was actually Hevy Cad Bane is the best in raw skill easily like Edward said he took down multiple Jedi with nothing but a cowboy hat, and a trenchcoat not gonna lie that's some raw skill Jedwerd trying not to add count dooku = me trying not to meme at meme fest yep. this is a good tier list Yeah Cad Bane would defeat Mando cad bane was able to take on Obi-One and Quinlin Vas and end in a tie he also killed countless Jedi in The Clone Wars mando is great but he can’t compare to Cad Bane in skill at least not when he was in his prime Ventress was introduced in the 2d Clone Wars.

Had a DVD of volume 1 when I was a kid, used to watch it all the time. It was the coolest shit I had ever seen. My mind was blown last year when I found out there was a volume 2. The jedi rescue mission really threw me, 'cause as a kid who only ever saw volume 1, I assumed all those jedi died. Then Fordo's coming in with the calvary and I feel like I'm 10 years old again

The fighting feels very Warhammer. Just throwing bodies after bodies at the enemy until one or both sides die. With just a few uber-powerful individuals sprinkled among the grunts.

Anakin’s ghost hand story is truly one of the best little stories in star wars for me, his final trial to become a jedi knight is to save these people from enslavement and these horrible things being done to their bodies, fuck the techno union

While the new canon clone wars are good, i will admit they really downplayed Grievous. In this clone wars he was believable as a Jedi killer. In the canon Clone Wars he struggled at one point killing younglings. Least in this version they made him a powerful threat that only after Mace Windu damage his chest did he slow down.

the nifty thing about the whole chase through Coruscant and the staff-wielding droids... why they seem so inept at a few points yet are able to duel the jedi on pretty much even footing? Programming, each droid is loaded with all kinds of combat routines, moves and tactics... But clearly they dont actually have one for how to stop a jedi from simply leaping over them to get away... they're programmed to Fight a jedi that engages them, so indirect methods like that or when they use the trains are very effective. Likewise when Shakti starts wielding one of their staves? Clearly someone dropped the ball and didnt actually program those droids properly for how to fight a jedi that is NOT wielding a lightsaber. They can still manage to some extent of course but their performance drops noticeably compared to while she was fighting them with her saber. This is a neat touch I think cause less well directed stories like this would just have her start beating them with her saber for no real reason... not like droids get tired or the like. Or they would make it explicit and obvious that "oh, yeah so the droids arent as good at fighting non-jedi weapons" just to make sure the viewer picks up on that. But nah, here it's There, yet we're left to figure out these little details and nods on our own. It's what takes these animation shorts up a level.

Edit 1 if Jarjar was able to hack the droid in the battle of TPM . . . . .is this a confirmation that he is a force User or in worst case scenario a Sith Lord???

Is this canon? Kinda. Sorta. Not really. When it came out this was intended to be the official bridge between episodes two and three. But then Lucas changed his mind, as he does, and Disney went along with his version. The stuff involving the attack on Coruscant, at least, has yet to be DIRECTLY contradicted by any new material (I think) so that stuff may still be in canon. Or at least the basic details are. Anything with Obi-Wan and Anakin is no longer canon. At least not as far as Disney is concerned. In regards to Legends it depends on who you ask.
