*Kiss the ring of Sofia Gigante, ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!* One of my favorite things in movies and tv is to see characters grow and evolve, and her evolution from where she started to where she is now is as entertaining to watch as Michael Corleone’s in The Godfather (which this channel needs to react to). I personally put her up there now with Kingpin and Gus Fring as my all time favorite tv mob bosses.

What I like about the show is its less Superhero show and more Mafia type show. And Storylinewise it makes sense because this happens in the early days of the Batman in gotham. Like the entire setting of Gotham is like a huge city run my criminal empires that resembles the Mafias that ruled New York etc. We haven't gone to the phase of the crazy times of Gotham yet , there is no Joker , no Mr.Freeze , no Ivy. Not yet , they are yet to come. This show and the Batman movie was just the calm before the storm. Riddler was just the match , the fire is only going to burn in the coming years!

They might not believe him. Might even say he’s making it up to come across a big man, a legit Italian American eligible to be a made man. Maybe Rex, nice as he was to Oz as a kid, denied having a ‘gimp’ for a bastard son. It’d be another layer to Oz’s psyche, and would explain so much. Him trying to be a mobster, a mafioso, all to reclaim the heritage he was denied. Even if it was just being recognized by a ‘small time asshole’, like Alberto said, that’s the world to him because that’s his dad. Plus, Rex was Selina Kyle’s biological father in some of the most recent comics!

The way this show sets up events and characters is so good that it makes whatever happens in the finale even bigger. If a character dies I’m gonna be sad or if some other big thing happens I’m gonna be glued to the skin.

Like I said last week, this is the Greatest Comic Book Show since Batman the Animated Series. However, I'm gonna echo Mr. Campia and say this series is so great I don't consider it a comic book show anymore. It's among the greatest crime dramas ever produced. Coppola, Scorsese, Tarantino, De Palma, and Mann would all have their mouths on their laps watching this show.

I feel like the show is going to punch us in the stomach asp... We are always rooting for someone, but at the end of the day there are no good guys in this story. I think the show is going to remember us all about that near the finale. I would guess Sofia may kill Oz mom, she has already killed a kid in the 1st ep. Oz literally betrayed everyone, and honestly I do think he will betray someone else (Vic?) before the end of the season. I'm not looking for a hapoy end this show is going to make us feel like shit by the end of it, and I love it

Sofia could not have done a better job taking over her father‘s organization than she did in the past 2 episodes. Not only did she wipeout all of the Falcone’s (thankfully not Gia), she’s renamed HER organization in honor of her mother. Not only burying the Falcone name and legacy with her murderous father, but also (as the show runners said on the Inside The Episode featurette) transforming it from a patriarchy to a matriarchy. And here come the complaints from the incels and Proud Boys in 3….2….1

I'm not going to deny that there are complaints about "strong women" in fiction from incels and Proud Boys, but almost all of the complaints I've seen in the last 10 - 15 years about "strong female characters" is that they're poorly written, not that they're women. Star Wars and Marvel, mostly, have gotten a lot of hate related to this because the "strong women" are generally poorly written, shallow vessels for the writers' and producers' feminist ideology. Sophia, on the other hand, is written brilliantly; she didn't come out of the gates as "boss babe" but rather a tormented outcast in her family. We've gotten to see where she started as an innocent young woman, who is put through monstrous torture and comes out the other side reborn as a ruthless, calculating monster herself; but we also get to see that her humanity is somewhat intact and her femininity still shines through. She is seductive, and shows her maternal instinct connecting with and protecting her niece. Her motivations, strengths and vulnerabilities are relatable whether you're a man or woman. So many female characters in modern fiction come out of the gates flawless, reject any notion of traditional femininity, and brush off any criticism (if anyone dares criticize them at all) with "you're only critical of me because you're an insecure man", and that is worthy of criticism/complaint (especially when it's the go-to playbook for 95%+ of the "strong female" leads we get nowadays).
