The relationship between Okabe and Mayuri is my favourite thing in this show. I feel like most people focus on Okabe and Kurisu (and rightfully so, because they are amazing) but I've seen other well-written romances similar to this one. On the other hand, I rarely see platonic male/female friendships as nuanced, beautiful and layered as the one between Okabe and Mayuri.

Euphonium Yuu and Chi - Girls last tour Hiromi and Akkey - Kyoukai no kanata Mahiro and Yoshino - zetsuen no tempest Suzaku and Lelouch - Code Geass and last, but not least: all the guys from Rainbow, which is basically "bromance, the anime" xD

Although the original Steins Gate had the best singular episode (episode 12), I never knew why Okabe could even act remotely the same. Then again, I havent finished Steins Gate 0. The reason why the first dmail saves Kurisu is because: They send a dmail, switched world lines to a world line in which sern would eventually controll the world, for that reason Suzuha had to go back in time for the IBN, but she stopped in 2011 to find her dad, instead crashed into the raido building where the lecture in the first episode was being held so the lecture for that day was cancelled and Kurisu never went there/got killed.

Even after watching this show dozens of times, I still believe Suzuha killed Makise the very first time before any other time travel shenanigans were involved.
@khangminh2192 жыл бұрын
or i may miss something that suggest suzuha is the killer, but in beta worldline, makise dead in 2010 so her dad is the one complete the time machine, so why suzuha go back in time to kill makise but not her dad? like, i feel like the show try so much to send the message that her dad is the one kill her. first time is when he choked her, second time is when he try to use the screwdriver to kill her. if not because okabe came ands interupt it, her dad would be the murder.
@chaosmastermind2 жыл бұрын
@@khangminh219 Except the Dad had no reason to kill her. The reason he killed her is because Okabe showed up to interfere and made him super pissed off. So in the original timeline she didn't die at all and Okabe wasn't involved at all either. And she joined up with Sern and made the time machine with them. That caused Suzuha's future and she went back to change it. The way she could do that is assassinate Makise to prevent them from ever getting time travel. It would make Suzuha disappear, but the future would be saved, so she's willing to do it. Okabe changed everything by showing up and screwing with the timeline. His involvement threw everything off multiple times. Him showing up screwed it up, him doing the D-mail screwed it up more, and him going back in the time machine screwed it up even more. So basically, we never got to see what was originally supposed to happen. Since his mere existence screwed up the timeline. In every timeline there has to be a base future where no time travel is involved at all. It is the act of introducing the time travel that deviates it from that line to a new one where time travel exists. That is why I believe the original timeline is one they never even mentioned, where none of this happens at all and there is no such thing as time travel. Another thing you gotta remember is that time corrects itself as close as it can due to convergence. So even IF Okabe killed her one time.. her father could have killed her a previous time, and Suzuha could have killed her the time before that. And before that she never even died because no time travel was involved yet.
@khangminh2192 жыл бұрын
@@chaosmastermind interesting, i never thought it that way. If misake never die, she would develop the time machine (willingly or forcely). Was this confirmed anywhere that misake built the time machine in beta worldline? Also doesn't misake dad choked her before interupted by okabe? How Influent sern in this world line? There wasn't any element from time travel that affect her dad, so he would copy her work anyway. (sry if i sound rude, just curious)
@chaosmastermind2 жыл бұрын
@@khangminh219 Right but he was only mad enough to take it out on her because Okabe humiliated him and pissed him off. He wouldn't have been so angry had he never showed up. Maybe just the fact that reading steiner exists caused the timeline to change the first time.

Hmm... you guys are still confused on why they need to delete the first D-mail. It was explained by Suzuha in ep13/14. The first D-mail was logged by Sern. which thus made them aware of the existence of a message that sent back in time, so Sern then was made aware of a time-machine that existed in Japan, and sent people to obtain the time machine. Which then created a dystopia where Sern controlled the world by controlling time. So logically, by undoing that, it means they will reach a world where the future Sern did not obtain the time machine.

@@IHasIdea Only initially. If you combine the endings of both shows you still have all the pay off from the original season by the end without going into S;G 0 already knowing how it will end.
@IHasIdea4 жыл бұрын
@@SirStrangefolk That's not how momentum and emotional buildups work. You have certain events (all that happened, every sacrifice made to save Mayuri, the cruel realization that Kurisu has to die) and instead of a proper finale, you get a tonally different story with a whole bunch of new characters. You watch this new story to the end, get a recap of the original (it's like it was intended for you to view S;G first?) and then watch the end of the original. You see an Okabe that you long forgot (the two are different people at this point) and a conclusion to the story of a character that you no longer have the buildup for because the Alpha worldlines are far behind you. 0 is a separate story, an addition and an explanation to the ending of the original. You don't watch an explanation of an ending before you watch the ending do you? Also 0 has its own emotional buildup and payoff, recall the final scene?
@SirStrangefolk4 жыл бұрын
@@IHasIdea I kind of see what you're getting at. But "long forgot", "far behind you", what? How quickly do you just drop things from your mind? For the ending I was suggesting an edit that interweaves both, not watching 0 to the end first and then getting back to the original finale afterwards.
@IHasIdea4 жыл бұрын
@@SirStrangefolk "Long forgot" and "far behind you" are referring to the emotional buildup (also somewhat applicable in the literal term if you aren't binging the shows and are watching them slower). I'll make a metaphor of emotional buildup of a story by comparing it to a symphony. You have a grand symphony, the music brings you emotionally up and down, all building up to a grand finale. Instead of listening to the finale, you switch to another symphony that, while somewhat connected to the original symphony, is different, darker, and has its own finale that incorporates a part of the original's finale. So you come back to the original's finale, and it now feels disjointed and not as connected, as you just listened to the finale of another symphony with its own buildup. In conclusion, it's not good to connect both symphonies because it makes for an overtly long buildup section with no grand finale, and then you listen to both finales when your most recent buildup (that replaces the original's buildup because emotional buildup works like that) was of the second symphony. And the edits you suggest are overly complicated and do not solve the problem of too much buildup with no payoff. Emotional buildup works like music. You can't listen to a song or symphony, cut off at the end, listen to another, and then expect the ending of the original song to sound as coherent and good.

@@IHasIdea Alrighty, thank you. I at least get it now! Thank you for giving me a proper explanation instead of cussing at me for thinking differently! :]

@@arobbit No problem, I always like respectful and constructive dialogue and not just back and forth insults. For the most part in the grand majority of media, it's best to consume it by release order. Writers like to put references even if the story takes place before the original (is a prequel) not to mention blatant spoilers as well. Also you'd want to finish your show to the end before jumping into something else.

watch steins;gate 0 after

Please let them watch 23B first, then season 2 and then 23A,24,25.

Why tf should someone do that? It's so retarded. If you are watching for the first time you should definitely just watch the original series first and then Steins gate 0. Why would you interrupt the show right at its end? It doesn't make any sense.
@arobbit4 жыл бұрын
@@exter9384 Except it does because it's the chronological flow of the story. What's retarded about that?

I would agree with watching 23 B going into 0 as well.... Makes the entire story that much more powerful in my opinion.

I recommend you guys to watch the second season after you're finishing the 23 episode then watch the final episode... This is chronological order for this anime
@Reaper28694 жыл бұрын
Also the best way to ruin the experience for yourself. That order is best left for a rewatch

@@IHasIdea Not true, most of S;G has already happened by the time S;G 0 starts. Regardless, release order is definitely the best way to watch the series first time.

@@bluepolarbear S;G, episode 1, where do you think the video (that is just static for now) comes from?

DO NOT WATCH EPISODE 23. WATCH Episode 23B which will lead you into steins gate 0. After steins gate 0, you watch episode 23 through 25 for the best ending eva!

watch episode 23 to like 15 minutes Then do 23B and then 0 then go back and finish

Thank God they probably finished the show by now and won't do this nonsensical order for a first time view.

@@IHasIdea um dont they release these videos As they watch them that day?
@IHasIdea4 жыл бұрын
@@BillPlunderbonesTew8 They don't. First, they have a Patreon where they link these videos a week early for Patreon supporters. Second, they obviously filmed these reactions way before since they started with the online reactions template for S;G on episode 20, while they started quarantine all the way back in March. These are all filmed long before.
