Tbh Steins;Gate 0 kinda ruins some stuff of the regular S;G (like Mayuri falling in love for Okabe but she have never demonstrate that and she even wanted Okabe and Kurisu to be together). Don't get me wrong, it does have great moments, but is not that good as the original one IMO.

16:00 The first anime I watched that had places that felt so recognizable and/or real to me where I am was "Michiko to Hatchin". Love the background art and character designs; you can tell it was researched with care and attention to detail. 20:38 I can imagine Okabe's child in his booster chair sounding like Stewie from Family Guy (minus the world domination and trying to kill his mother thing lol).

To anyone interested, Braun's daughter shows up in Robotics;Notes all grown up. The anime isn't as good as this one and is of a different genre but for hardcore fans of the S;G universe that wants to know more about the antagonist organization and how some of these stories connect, check it out.

Both the OVA and movie (Deja Vu) aren't based on the original source material (visual novel). They were made in order to extend the story from the anime staff. The woman you might think it might be Suzuha's mother (from OVA) isn't actually her mother. Her real mother is revealed on Steins;Gate 0 which is the "true sequel" from the visual novel creators.

If you ever want to see an anime with well animated and detailed imagery of real American locations, check out 'East of Eden'. It's like they scouted Washington DC and New York with photos just to make sure every detail down to street signs are accurate. It was quite a hoot seeing characters in the show move through locations I know very well.

There is one more OVA where Makise has to spoilers, to an extent, to save Okabe from being erased from time. Then...0. That entire attractor field is weird. Occultic;Nine occurs in the Steins;Gate, but the rest of the ";" franchise outside of tie-ins takes place in the same attractor field as 0.

I agree that it ended how I thought it would and wanted it to, but in a different setting. I am a bit disappointed in the anime for changing how the memory between timelines works though, since in the game it is made clear that people remember both as sort of competing clear memories once unlocked, which is why Kurisu grows so much closer to Okarin over the course of the dozens of time-leaps, Faris recalls and chooses what she does, and Lukako realizes that she is meant to be a he and knows all the reasons why the boy version of her improves the timeline without Okarin asking. Kurisu is more skeptical than the others, which is why it takes until the sewing for her to admit she has memories, but unlike the OVA one would expect the game version of her to have immediately known Okarin when they meet at the end on the sidewalk and talk for a bit (I mean, she must have stronger memories than Faris who had an instantaneous complete recall of only one alternate time in the ex-cafe). Oddly though, the dub (but not the sub) makes it immediately obvious that Mayushii knows she was previously going to die once Okarin gets back to the original timeline.

I keep on forgetting that the anime is much shorter than the VN and I question as to why multiple arcs didn't show up. Perhaps it is a testament to how well the VN was done if I keep on thinking those arcs were entire episodes for the show.

Okay I want to say this right now to every comment that says this and movie is not cannon, you are talking about an anime that says there are multiple world lines (universes) that have different scenarios therefore every iteration of anything that can happen is it's own worldline which then means that the ova and movie are a different worldline then the novel making both cannon in the end

No buddy. Firstly, only one worldline exists at any given time. There is no multiverse in Steins;Gate, it doesn't use the many worlds interpretation. Secondly, the movie is officially not canon, since the official after story is the Holy Day of Scourge Light Novel, written by the original author. Thirdly, the movie breaks the established time travel rules. And lastly, canon means all the stories that actually happened throughout the story. The movie didn't happen.
