This show is probably the the first time I actually liked Harley's new 52 design by tying the original design to her abusive relationship and the new design sybolizing her escape from it.

@@Arkayjiya Doesn't surprise me, but I don't really follow Harley's books so I just viewed it as a "fan service" costume change that I didn't like. Now I get what it's meant to convey.

@@wolfpack_104 I think the camera here vs. in the comics definitely helps a lot. Fan service is more than just having a revealing costume but how much what is revealed is emphasized by the camera and its angles. I big problem in comics is that, even with full-body suit, women will still be drawn and positioned in ways that greatly emphasize and draw attention to their breasts, butts, and any bare skin. Here Harley's basically wearing the same outfit as the comics but the camera focuses around her the same as it does for any other character like Joker or Batman. How revealing her outfit is isn't given as much attention as what she's saying or doing, so the fan service feels far less intrusive. Another example of this, just see the difference between Wonder Woman in her solo movie vs. the theatrical JL movie. Same actress, same character, wearing basically the same outfit, but the latter has significantly more shots of her ass.

The costume of a hero/vilain and how it's presented can convey an unspoken message behind the intent/motivation of the person wearing it (and the artist drawing it). Really glad the writers for this show understood the intention behind the costume and made its inclusion better as a result.

Jim Gordon is voiced by Christopher Meloni who played a main role on Law & order special victims unit. I like to think it was great practice for what Jim Gordon would actually be like after decades on the Gotham police force. It sure sounds like Chris is having fun. Also, Ivy got the idea to set up the acid from Harley herself. Ivy asked Harley Quinn to ask Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. Its brilliant, Harley got her own freedom from her own skill as psychologist. No character is weak or sacrificed to make other characters seem cool or powerful.

Actually, Eric, while Harley was created for Batman: The Animated Series it was Paul Dini who created her, not Bruce Timm. Her personality was also loosely based off of Arleen Sorkin, Paul Dini's college friend who also voiced Harley right up until 2009.

Just caught up on this show, I didn’t watch it for a long time, and realizing I had HBO max and whatever else, prompted me to finally watch it, I love it holy shit. It’s so good.
