Bliss & Eso is three people. Two MCs, Bliss, and Eso and DJ Izm on the turntables and as producer. Eso was the first one who rapped, with the thicker accent. He was borne in Sydney Australia. Bliss is the second one who rapped. He was borne in the US, but his family moved to Australia when he was 13, which is why he doesn’t have a thick Australian accent. They have a huge and diverse catalog, and both of the MCs can spit with the best of them.

I feel positivity is one of the unique things about Aussie hip hop: at least the songs that hit mainstream (where I normally hear them for the first time) The talk about loving the beat, living the game, how music has changed their outlook etc. Hilltop Hoods is another good example of this; where they talk about how lucky they are that their music has given them the life they now have.

8:11 We live in a very sad time where for most people it is easier to not care about others. In a time of performative cruelty and depressing indifference it takes more strength to say *"I DO give a f###!"* than "I don't give a f###.". Hope has become Punk and people that have Dreams are Strong and Determined instead of Naive and Foolish.

@Bobsyagod3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the original stopping all stations, the changed lyrics in the last part in the restrung version wreck it for me. @A. Melbs Who? ChillinIt? He is Australian, does hiphop. Thats Aussie hiphop bro. He has a grime style, and takes reference from many places. He references American sports and personalities, Australian sports and personalities and UK sports and personalities. Sounds of the scene evolve. Thats like saying old school hiphop in Australia is just American. Flows and structures evolve over time, and each new generation lays a paver on the road of Aussie hiphop to allow new artists to walk on.
@ThatguyPurps2 жыл бұрын
@A. Melbs I think you can definitely see the growth... from Bias B, Hunter, 2up, Funkoars, Hilltop hoods etc Too modern artists.. but even say Bliss n Eso, look back to flowers in the pavement to what they do now and its changed. Its all progression. The thing I like with "Hiphop" is it tells and shows the time in which it was created. Hence the "hip"... whats current, popular etc All I can say is I am so glad mumble crap never was a thing in the Aus hiphop scene and the artists have always been about lyrics and story telling. Some more pure dance tracks around the place now and some mixing of RnB which is nothing but good for the scene. Then you have the artists like "The kid Lario" who looked up to JuiceWrld and is now making his own waves. If you check out "Rappertag" you will still see the style you were referring to but glimpses of newer technical elements. The Aussie scene is alive and well.

One of the things that makes Aussie Hip Hop unique is that we have a culture of Pub Rock so anyone who wants to play live needed to be able to hold their own in that environment. That's why there's often a bit of a rock n roll vibe pops up in Aus Hip Hop.
