I was really pissed when this came out. My mother lived through the blitz as she was not evacuated (her mother refused), and so I can tell you that the experience of the bombing had totally traumatized her. I'll never forget her telling me a story about how when they came out of the Anderson shelter in the morning after a particularly heavy raid one of her neighbours had been blown out of her kitchen from the blast of one of the bombs, and my mother saw her neighbour's decapitated head resting on top of pile of rubble. My mother had a visceral hatred of the Germans until the day she died, the Blitz was not a joke. I hate trash like this film because they are trying to write the British people out of their own historical memory, to deny us our own history, our people suffered, not them.

There are US Army training films from WW2 telling American servicemen what to expect and how to behave in Britain. One of the things mentioned in several such films is that the British _do not_ share the attitude of Americans towards race relations, and that blacks are not treated as lesser than whites in England. I'm a Black American woman from the USA, I find Steve McQueen's portrayal of the Blitz to be disappointing and woke trash. I have always watching WWII movies and media from old days and different countries perspectives, as I am interested in history manly eary 20th century history both WWI and WWII. McQueen's film depicts the experiences of native British people who suffered during the Blitz, resulting in over 40,000 deaths, including 7,736 children. These children lost their families and were left traumatized by the events, which evoke strong emotions for those who witnessed the UK's experience in WWII Blitz, countless homes were destroyed, leaving innocent lives shattered. WWII was one of the most brutal conflicts in history, affecting both sides. It seems that woke activists, including McQueen, are attempting to rewrite history to serve their own narratives, showing little regard for the actual events, that McQueen who decide made a movie to appears to believe that the UK was similar to the Deep South in America. I have seen interviews and history channels on KZbin featuring Black American soldiers who served in the US Army during Jim Crow, when the army was still segregated, These US Black soldiers trained and enlisted for the Normandy campaign in the UK, where some British pubs welcomed Black American soldiers and showcased their jazz music. Yet, it seems ironic that McQueen, in his emotional state, has accused the UK of racism, which is a statement, It is also ironic that McQueen, who accuses Europeans of being racist, evil white monsters, portrays British people in his film "Blitz" as filled with racism, resembling a British version of the Deep South. It’s shocking that McQueen has accused the film and television industry in the United Kingdom of racism and a lack of racial diversity, despite the fact that the UK at that time was 95% native British. Like, what the fuck, like this Nigga lived in European country that part of mostly majority continent was identified ethically European? It’s super ironic coming Black anti-white racist activist like McQueen who view UK accused white supremacist nation very Europeans as racists that was funny McQueen himself married a European woman from the Netherlands, had two children with her, and continues to live a privileged life in London. Thank you for addressing this woke attempt to rewrite history in the film "Blitz." When I reacted to the poster and trailer, I found them to be nothing but forced and pandering to minority groups. Placing Black people in the midst of the Blitz from 1940 to 1941 is a waste of time and reveals Steve McQueen's true colors. I realized that this "Blitz" movie was not only boring but also filled with failed modern-day messaging. Including a white British single mother with a mixed-race child and hading brown people on 1940s on London during that period is unrealistic; most 61% Brits in 1940 to 1941 if white mother with biracial child faced harsh realities within their own communities leading family drama even being rejected by family. It was a high-risk situation to be a single mother at that time. Thanks to made video, I going say "God Save The Queen.".

The struggle of copyright claim, “inappropriate” topics not suited for advertisers, and shadow banning where they won’t even reveal what the issue is, all common things for me and a big obstacle to growing my channel. Your point at 10:15 is very accurate. My Great Grandma married in 1936 at 17 years old and in 1944 she actually had an affair with a soldier. Fitting perfectly with this video more specifically it was a mixed race or black American soldier, that soldier is my Great Grandad and my Grandma who is mixed race was born in 1945. This program is extremely woke and does nothing but virtual signal. It is extremely offensive to me glossing over the actual BLITZ and making it all about diversity (which wasn't a thing even in London at the time) So they're deciding to make up a scenario and make it the focus point instead of the actual scenario. How can they make London look so multiracial yet so racist at the same time. London was very white. There was a very small black population compared to the percentage of those who were white. The main type of immigrants you'd get to London is other Europeans from places like Germany, France and Eastern europe. My other Great Grandfather was actually a FireFighter during the London blitz so making it out like people like him are evil is idiotic. Would they have been racist? Sure... people back then didn't necessarily have a filter but making it out they were like the people in this program is just dumb.

Fun fact; look up any opinions of British soldiers returning from the war and nearly all of them say they didn't fight for what Britain had become. Most even said they'd fight for the other guys if they knew their country was going to have so much "diversity" and little opportunities. Most had to move to America after the war. Several pretty high profile brawls broke out in WW2 Britain when black GIs were fraternizing with brits who had no notion that there was any reason they shouldn't, and white GIs tried to attack the black GIs and British pub patrons stepped in and fought for them. 1940s British people were simply unfamiliar with either people who weren't white or with the notion of racism towards such people. Its historical revisionism to suggest there was this level of racism back then.

I don't have specific figures but I'm confident the chance of their being a black Air-Raid Warden, particularly of his age and fitness, in London during WWII was *ZERO.* Air-Raid Wardens were community-based positions of authority given to suitable volunteers who were too old to join the military or the fire brigade or had some disability which prevented them from doing so. Their primary role was to patrol the streets after dark, looking for stray lights, because in order to protect London (and all the other towns and cities in Britain) from German bombing, the government had mandated a nationwide Blackout. It was the law and a very serious one. Anyone flouting it was endangering the lives of everyone nearby and they knew it! If the Warden came knocking, you didn't slam the door in his face, whatever race he was, because he would return with the Police and a warrant for your arrest for 'Signalling to the Enemy' or some such charge and, if you weren't later found floating face-down in the Thames, you would likely end up in an internment camp for collaborators.

I just listened to The Fat Electrician tell the story of Eugene Bullard, who at the age of 8 ran away from his home in the US and moved to Europe to escape racism. The man also went on the fight in both world wars. And while there were some racists in Europe back then most people were not racist, due in some part to the fact that there were no one for them to be racist towards, but mostly due to the basic decency of the average European.
