Superb engineering marvel. looking at man's creation gives more confidence in my believe that there is a maker of everything that exists in nature. man consciously or unconsciously mimics his maker.

One of the important things to remember, training for the event of failures. We were always instructed in these things. I see accidents as a result of the lack of training in these areas.

Aircraft carriers never launch or recover aircraft when they are at anchor. They use the speed of the carrier to help with the launches and recovery.

Aircraft carriers cannot be anchored during flight operations. The movement of the ship creates the perfect winds/lift needed for takeoff. 😅

If somebody on watch fails to see and decides what is best to the weather radar and updates, it will sink the very best vessel at sea. No vessel can win against what nature throws in the middle of the sea, but it can be avoided.

get the point . . . I'm sure you understand that sea water behaves very differently during a severe storm compared to when the sea is relatively calm . . . the basic laws of hydrodynamics have little to no effect on incoming 6.3 ft waves . . . weathering a storm in the middle of the ocean in a 68,320 ton multi mission (CATOBAR) aircraft carrier is about brute force acting against the ravaging immediate sea water close to the carrier . . . the notion that bigger the ship better the sea state is a both yes & no bcos it depends on a lot of variables that needs to be factored in before coming to a practical conclusion . . . when ships ride across incoming waves it's putting a flat piece of weight on the the highest point of the wave . . . in such a situation buoyancy & hydrodynamics go out the window . . .

Container ships are vulnerable to sinking because their hulls are open and large waves can pour water directly into the hull. An aircraft carrier does not have opening in the hull that allow water to pure into the hull.
