Variation
Every creature is uniquely defined by its genes.

Child creatures are slightly randomly modified versions of their parent(s).

Whether you just want to observe, watch and study as the tree of life constructs itself from a single species, or you want to be an active influence on the development of the species in the game, the choice is up to you! Take a hands-on approach by using the nursery, an isolated area where you can tinker with the gene pool to your heart’s content. Use rovers to decide which creatures get to eat today and which ones starve! Create global catastrophes like an ice-age or a world-spanning flood to weed out the most vulnerable species. Or simply sit back and watch the life-and-death saga unfold!

Hi Blitz, thanks for taking a look at our game! :D Creatures in the Nursery keep dying because your target creature is still set to Primum specium, so the kill bot murders anything that looks interesting. It's designed so that one bot feeds creatures that more closely match the target, while the other kills creatures that don't. This leads to artificial selection, allowing you to evolve what you want! You can set the target creature from the Nursery UI, which you can bring up using the radio tower button on the left, pressing 'N', or by selecting the Nursery tower.

you should start off with the 'random' instead of 'default' creature, it will yield far stranger offspring. Also definitely use a map with water. Keep up the good vids

Some maps don't have water. Ocean, Lake and Oasis are the ones that I can recall that have water. Edit: Also you don't need the nursery to do gene splicing, Or at least I don't believe you need to.
