Great lesson @ 28.34 "systematically automating things that were originally manual" So doing things that don't scale. But not forever, until you build critical mass to automate.

When I noticed Nirav cutting off John Lilly repeatedly, I got a little curious about his personality. Apparently he was involved in a felony hit and run that he fled from in 2014 which was before this video. I'm curious about his leadership and Greylock's choosing him for this series.

What interested me, was the high level of penetration in senior citizen communities. Things must have changed since 2001, when we left Florida for Virginia. Senior citizens where we lived, were very computer and internet adverse.

It's interesting. I've never heard of Nextdoor until I moved to the Seattle area. I was invited by my neighbor who is an older woman with a family. Nextdoor seems to enable a modern day "neighborhood watch" and I think that's why you see large penetration of an older demographic. I personally don't think it'll become a thing for the younger generation, but it works for older folks that seem to be interested in keeping their neighborhood safe.

try to minimize to 7 neighbors, I think this number has something unique to it, just try and see how it works

27:15 your argument is nice, but there are no so much to say to neighbors, just small short talks, I think people always tend to like people from another side of the globe to know new cultures and traditions, plus 80% of neighbors are in dispute already

Ahmed the true leverage of this company is white middle class house wives. I lived in a housing track where this was piloted (it was this or a copy cat start up) and the moms used it as a social club and MLM funnel.

@@danielwerner9543 I completely agree with you , western people they have this kind of society. e.g. in my Arabic country, they form a groups in social media, they share experiences and create a market to support each others, it's wonderful and healthy. when I go to Ikea, I saw a lots of Swedish people buying there, I rarely see them in any other place or market. I can say it's really like what you say ( this company is white middle class house wives)

@@ahmedalhisaie7698 Hi Ahmed that sounds like a positive effect. I have felt and maintained that it western society Social Media may end up doing more harm then good. In Arabic countries it seems it has given people that never had a voice a voice and truly holds those in power accountable.

Mr Tolia, please get in touch with me, its about management that breaks their own guide lines ok, like they dont use their last names when addressing some one in an email letter ok???they cant deny it, i have the email from them, that is proof!! ya, much appreciate an email ok?? i have sent letters, even called California too, been there, done that, still nothing,,, this is my last resort to try and clear up a misunderstanding ok,, it kind of reminds me of that classic cool hand luke movie, where the warden talks to his men,,, take care, god bless,,,,

The host speaks too fast and is not coherent. I liked Reid Hoffman as a host better. Also, don't you guys go back and review your recordings to see what could have been done better? For one, the questions being asked are inaudible.

he has some nice ideas but the way he emphasizes sentences makes him sounds stupid. IMHO. I think it comes with status or something this notion that everything he spews out of his mouth is important... Its not.

Everything he says is important. He knows what he’s talking about. The emphasized way he speaks actually makes him sound smarter and more like a leader, not “stupid”
