Thing is we really don't need nerfs, as a lot of characters are losing their season buff in January. Hela for example will be losing her 20% dmg bonus, Hawkeye loses his dmg bonus as well, Hulk and Groot 200 hp bonus, etc. Looking forward to see what heroes are strong next season.

Hawkeye will still be able to one-shot. The loss of the buff will mainly affect body shots to tanks. Hela will still pop heads, too. Magik is the main and only loser of the season buff loss. I don't think she'll be able to one-shot combo anything anymore.

Yep. BUT they are working on the game. When I first started playing, I was barely hitting 200 fps, with massive stutters and fps drops, but now I'm averaging around 240fps on MOST maps and the fps drops are less frequent, so thats good. I just wish it was as smooth and responsive as OW....

Yeah the Game used to just run half a frame after exiting a match, and in game it would fluctuate hard during the Beta, this was even worse in the Alpha, I partially blame the devs but I also blame the horrible Engine running most games nowadays UE5, it makes 4090s cry tears of pain.

you know what Freedo... I get it now. I've been watching this channel for years, and I'm not proud to admit that I was in the crowd 6 years ago calling hero bans a stupid idea. I praised role queue because I was tired of people insta locking 3, 4, 5 DPS and hard feeding. but since Marvel Rivals came out, I haven't played a single match of OW2, and I didn't fully grasp why until this video. without role queue or aggressive balancing, I can just play my funny Iron Fist, then switch right to Venom if we need to get beefier, and not have to worry about either of them being gutted by a balance patch... it feels good. I miss when I could pick Genji and actually do meaningful damage. he literally FEELS patched. 3 whole years of lame, wet noodle, 110 per swing dragonblade. not to mention only 6 seconds to make use of that worthless thing. the character's identity is pretty much dead. could you imagine if NetEase put a cap on how many resets Bucky could get with his ult? that'd be such a huge blow to his character identity. but no, they just let the character do what it was designed to do. not the case with Overwatch.

I absolutely get your second paragraph. I've had so many matches where the enemy team would be pushed up so far into our spawn that my teammates didn't know what to do and old habits from OW1 kicked in where I pick high damage characters and sit inside spawn and hunt for heads to push them back. None of the new players knew how to handle it, so I had to step it up and swap off strategist to pick Hawkeye, Widow, or Hela just to make the enemy team freak out for a bit, then swap back to strategist characters.

I'm more of a tank and support player and I play Psylocke as my only dps like Tracer in Overwatch. She just feels great to play because she feels strong enough where I can make an impact when I execute well enough. Tracer, while still really good in the right hands, doesn't feel fun to play as anymore with all the heavy sustains and how bad DPS feels as a role to play. Tanks feels really great to play even when solo tanking when you play your cooldowns and engagement right and I can say the same for supports. You really gotta be on point with the healings otherwise your teammates just insta dies but you can also contribute with aggressive plays as well! Game feels really good atm. It gives me 2016 - 2018 Overwatch feels.

Imma be honest, as a huge fan of Overwatch (the first one) I am really loving Marvel Rivals. Its bringing back the fun I use to have, and with their unique characters, I'm having a lot of fun with DPS than I did in Overwatch. When I tried Overwatch 2, as a Reinhardt main, I found it difficult and just outright chose not to use him. That made me sad, ngl.........I spent literally hours on him, only for him to feel useless in the 5v5 setting. I know they now are entertaining 6v6 again, but I'm no longer interested....which is sad to say

there's a reason the dps queue for ow is like 5x shorter than support. nobody wants to play that role, nothing dies, and you're required to play PERFECTLY to get a pick in high ranked lobbies, and you're not getting that pick if the enemy team plays around you even if your execution is perfect. In Rivals people die to a rogue moon knight ankh you forgot to shoot at for 1 second. You die from a panther that slipped your mind and you get bursted in a second. Overwatch needed a faster TTK, instead they went for "pick rate" balance which led to the most boring times in a hero shooter ever.

I also think the ban phase is vital for the health of the game, but i see one problem with it in the future of the game: They're gonna add heros and when the roster gets bigger, there's going to be characters that would get banned sometimes in the past that would just never ever get banned anymore because there's not enough ban picks for people to care about removing them. When the roster reaches 60 for example, and the fantastic 4 becomes the most op for some reason, Hela will almost never get banned and even if she's not top tier at that point, she still dominate certain characters that are going to get played rarely because of that. What i mean is if the roster grows and grows, we are going to need 6 bans to keep things intresting and unique, and eventually 8 at like 5 years from now and so on

I think some attention needs to be payed towards what's actually under the hood here, because it's now been made apparent that many abilities and character movements are literally tied to the framerate, and when the performance of the game itself is so bad most people barely get above 100FPS, it makes them play even worse. @@yume5338 you should look into it more. The only thing that makes a little difference so far is Dr strange movement when he flies. The other changes you will not notice unless you’re getting 30fps or lower. If you’re on console and concerned then just switch to console only and done. Wolverine can literally miss out on entire elims because his combo sometimes doesn't finish them off with lower FPS, even on a curve, not just on 30. There is a difference between 60 and fully unlocked. Strange, Wolverine, Magik (you can see the vid I posted), etc still show noticable differences. Not only that, but movment feels more clunky, wheras fully unlocked it smooth and responsive.

That's why we wanted a PVE mode; it's the best way to deliver lore to players in a video game. Overwatch dropped the ball on that over and over again, and then Marvel Rivals comes out with literal decades worth of pre-packaged lore about its characters for players to dive into. Overwatch slowly stripped away everything unique about it while not listening to the community. The lore has been reduced to comics. Is balancing the game necessarily bad though? I think people are still a little blind to the reality of balancing a video game. Its fun now even though its unbalanced because people haven't "solved" the game yet. Goats was around and possible for a long time before it was actually implemented in overwatch. Once it was figured out, it was hard meta. Double shield is another great example of the game being solved, though people figured that one out really quickly. Eventually, people are just gonna play these hard meta heroes/comps to win and get rank even if they aren't as fun. I don't think that overwatch's balance team necessarily tries to balance everything to be "equal" like you're saying. I think if anything, they balance the game to make sure that one meta doesn't remain meta for a long period of time. The game becomes boring if you don't shake things up at least a little bit and tune some heroes to be better if they're underperforming. A lot of the time they clearly over-buff weak heroes and over-nerf strong ones just to shake up the game. Trust me, they are not trying to make everything equal in the slightest. We would never have mauga meta if this was the case.

I never gave a shit about PvE, I never gave a shit about consistent updates, I never gave a shit about the 6v6 to 5v5 change, I fucked with ow heavy, I played a shit tonne of rivals on launch because of all the “It’s so much better than ow”, but after 10s of hours I realised something. It’s the same game, OW and MR both fail at the same hurdles, there’s a couple MR does better and a couple they fail at. OW has abused their players with false promises, lack of updates etc. promising so much more. OW promised a thousand things and delivered 100, MR promised 100 things and delivered 100 things. My point is, if someone who’s never played either picks up MR or OW in 2025, whichever one they prefer will be 50/50. OW promised shit that would fuck those scales, make it 90/10, 99/1, but they just fucking lied, and this new game with no experience is taking their spot. Blizzard fucked up, and overwatch will drown out. Even if overwatch gets enough updates to be objectively “better” nobody will play because of the history, it will take a miracle for players to remove their warranted prejudice and treat the games as equal. I guess my point is, because of its history, everyone says MR is so much better than OW, but in actual game play, they are very close.

Except in my opinion MR hero skill ceiling is far lower than OW. The top 5% widows/tracers are far beyond the 95%. In MR the third person, game design, and hero designs make it much easier to cap that ceiling on roles. This is not a bad thing per se, but this relies more on team performance(ult economy and synergy) rather than individual performance.

I would say MR is like early OW with hero synergy like nano blade, grav/dragon, nano reaper… the difference im thinking is of course the dev teams approach such as not nerfing but rather buffing and seasonal buffs. With overwatch2 it was more focused on each individual character dynamics rather than team synergy and I think marvel will be a pure team based pvp fps game that OW struggled with(due to 12 players and unique hero dynamics). In a season or two I don’t think you will see much solo Que comp on MR (they already have clans as well). Overwatch reputation has been garnished and with the complexity of the game now having 40+ unique characters a new player will not feel welcomed in the game unless they can dedicate several hours.

I just feel like MR leans too heavy and I just don’t enjoy that aspect, I’ve got one friend who plays actively but no others, solo queue in MR is stomp or get stomped, and I just think that really sucks.

I'm also one of those people that always was in favour of hero bans but was never fully on board because I didn't know entirely how it would play out. After playing rivals with the bans it's amazing how good they are and I doubt I'm going to play OW again until they add bans. All of the good sides of bans does happen and little to none of the downside happen it's pretty much the perfect system.

Fredo has always been asking for hero bans but don’t play on your words you always ask for balance as well you have lots of videos shown that you have changed your opinion so many times on what you wanted it’s ridiculous and when I watch this video, you always think you’re right which is just hilarious can’t you admit that sometimes you were wrong? You can't type anything in overwatch chat. You'll get AI banned. You must be relatively new to OW to have the opinion of it being a balanced and quality game. Overwatch is like a temu advertisement; it looks great online, but once it's in your hands, it's a huge disappointment.

Man, I play both games. Avid OW player, 1500+ hours since 2017, sunk about 25 hours into Rivals. They are both fun! I enjoy both; one feels more polished, the other more arcadey. Does it matter which is the king if you enjoy playing video games because they're just fun???

People have been saying OW2 is dead for a while now and my que times are still just fine so. Not everyone enjoys Third person or the marvel IP so. It will still have its base. Both games will exist side by side just fine. When are you people going to learn the only thing that kills blizzard games is WW3 when the nukes drop. No matter how much people declare them dead they still get millions of players and never die lmao. That being said. I play both. They scratch entirely different itches. And the di** riding for MR while overlooking its glaring issues at launch is wild and hypocritical if you ask me.

the game has increased in player since ow1, and ow2 launch people just want to hate to hate the game isnt going anywhere. I still get like 15 minute queue times in the mornings but ow1 i would be getting like a 25 minute ngl

There are weirdos out there, me for one, who love Mystery Heroes and queue times have never been better. It's really weird. I know matchmaking isn't the best/tightest for MH, but barely waiting keeps me playing because I'm an impatient bastard. The only thing that'll get me to switch would be long queue times. I'm way too old to learn the ins and outs of 40 new heroes at once.

@@pompidoudog q times in both games are going to still be quick af, but marvel rivals high elo q times can be multiple hours for some players while ow is like 30 mins at worst times even if your rank 1.

Grand master lobies in this game feels way better and fun experience then most competitive games. Even with randoms you feel like your team is an actual team , and there is LOTS of different play styles each of them will be rewarding. Blizzard could never
