Crests acquisition from m+ dont matter if there aren't people to play the content... They need to rethink their m+ changes and acknowledge that what they did severely hurt the game mode and was a colossal failure by trying to push everyone into organized groups and voice calls by making the content too hard and punishing for pugs. The organized groups and calls will form naturally as people progress into harder keys as its an infinite scaling system but forcing it will just naturally deter people from playing. And as a result we now have this state of m+, where no tanks or healers exist, its a que simulator , and the player base is dwindling for the game mode people are supposed to do outside of raiding weekly.

As a (apparently non-existent) healer, I'm loving the system. I queue with a tank friend, get an overgeared set of DPS in 30 seconds and blast the dungeon. Absolute easy life. If more people stopped whining about DPS queues and actually played one of the two roles critical to a group's success, they'd find the system is working perfectly fine. Instead, they're too scared they're going to make a mistake that will have everyone complain, so they continue to play DPS, fail to press their defensives, don't use pots, die by standing in the fire and wonder why they don't get invites from others. Most tanks and healers don't need to bother with the queue because we can talk to others, curate a list of people that know what they're doing and can blast a dungeon and just invite them directly.

Make crests warbound and we'll be swimming in people playing super high gear alts that they have no idea how to play. It would be (even worse than now) terrible to PUG.

I feel bad for anyone playing M+ right now. I got 2k rating for the mount and to be honest any second more on M+ is a nightmare. I tried to get some +8's for the crests for the upgrades to get mythic appereances, but its straight up impossible. As a dps getting invited into ANY group is near impossible. I can sit around for 20 minutes and no one wants to invite me. I tried running my own key, but got trolled and the key went to waste and the idea of running more +7's to MAYBE upgrade your key is insane. Seriously, I dont think I have been ever more miserable playing WoW than I am right now. I would like for it to be like a chore, but its worse - its the opposition of fun. Oh, and obviously once again Blizzard is implementing changes that literally punish people for playing the game before those changes, instead of implementing some retroactive changes. Lovely.

I'm loving the system at the moment, I'm a healer that duo-queues with a tank and I get the choice of whoever I want to play with, whenever I want to play. Even when the guildies and friends don't want to play, we can put a key up on the group finder and get 30 applicants in 30 seconds. Meta picks are easy to come by if I want to grab them, overgeared people with massive IO are always looking for a group, it's a dream. I guess when your role adds critical value to a group, you're more likely to find others that want to play. That's the system working as it should.

I hit 2760 and I agree expect I’d say that +12 is the real wall for pugs. Of course it could also be the fact that I’m playing an undesirable spec (outlaw) but in my experience the pugs I get are awful 99.999% of the time for 12+ I’ve only timed mist of terna on 12 and we got it by only seconds .

I will admit that I am a casual player these days, my Sunwalker Paladin is my main I run dungeons and Delves and just go about my days enjoying everything as best as I can. With a mixture of HC and Delve content I acquired enough gear and then via Crests upgrade my iLevel to 610. But the issue I have with crests is that the naming process isn't clear as to what is the lower crest to which is the higher version without reading up on the matter. I would have liked to have seen them named or coloured (green, blue, purple, gold for example) to make it clearer, but I guess I am old now after player for 20 years lol

That's probably fine, and now it would keep you doing +10s instead of dipping lower to +8. I think one hope as well would be less toxicity since depleting the key still rewards you loads, so hopefully people will be more accepting of different classes/newer people? M+ has ruined all group activities in the game. Everything is viewed as a speed run. A leveling alt enters a Time Walking dungeon to have the “tank” pull the “room” and wipe. Then repeat the process again. Mechanics? Gone. Appreciating the art that goes into the creation of a dungeon? Gone. Farming dungeon only mats or achievements? Gone.

This doesn't solve the Tank or Healer issue. If you tank or heal you should get double the crests. They should capped the maxed key at 20. That way they can design a plus 20 key for each dungeon. Maybe have an extra boss or an unique dungeon route too.

This is nice, but honestly the biggest change I'd like to see is for them to get rid of keys dropping a level every time you deplete them. It'd keep me trying to get my +8 done instead of pretty much stopping for the week the moment a run doesn't go well and it drops to a +7 that I have no motivation to run(well, maybe I would now if only for the possibility of exchanging those crests with the new rates and the cap gone...)

The changes are nowhere near enough. They have completely missed the playerbase that doesn't engage with +10s and above. People are calling out for better crest acquisition rates, and they've gated it behind the +10 scene that is heavily meta driven in PuGs. This only really smooths the experience for players that have premade groups they play with. Tone Deaf changes. And I'm not surprised to see ALL wow influencers get on the hype and positivity train without giving the changes a second thought. Most of the people praising the changes are those who push keys and have premades, aka influencers/streamers and iO pushers. The larger section of players have been completely ignored with these changes. Bravo.

All I want is solo queue for mythic plus. Some of my favorite classes to push on are dps but with kids I have very little time to push. I'll spend hours waiting to get into a 12 or finding a decent healer for my key to the point where I have to give up, because my free time is up and I just end up rerolling a healer every season. I know that solo queue might have it's own long waits like lfr but at least you know you're guaranteed to get into a key and I really think more people would play if they didn't have to deal with the constant rejection from party leaders. I like what kensmith said about offering extra rewards for playing healer/tank.

Now if we could just figure out how to get non-meta specs to be able to play the game without an outside party incentivizing it (which doesn't even help the cause from my experience), that'd be great. And honestly, all BTM does is get non-meta people to play with each other, excluding meta specs, which is what was already happening because no meta specs wanted to play with us anyway. I'd even list my own key and no one would sign up because joining a non-metas key was the same as inviting them to yours. They just don't want anything to do with us.

My guild is M+ based - group/Friend runs are usually much more competent than pugs. That said, one of the major issues with pugs atm - is healers who spend most of their time dps'n. *Almost always, I'm forced to mitigate/self-heal way more than necessary - which adds to key time. This isn't rocket science...my 1.8 to 2.4mil dps should be prioritized over your 200K. In addition, often the tank will die...causing a domino death effect, which again - adds to key time or bricks it completely. Tanks that won't taunt, or healers who don't heal = waste of time.

The crests change should of been changed at the start of the WoW anniversary event. But this does NOT help chip away at the other issues that plague M+. The Challenger's Peril of deaths chopping away chunks of the timer, the key depletion, and more.

I play a healer and would run "crest farm" keys. Usually I was inviting dps with 228+ilvl and 2500+io. We were flying through dungeons. I can see why that would be really frustrating for lower ilvl dps. But that's the way blizzard incentivized me to make my groups. Failure wasn't an option, the punishment for failing was too high.

I think people still wont come back to M+ until they tune the difficulty a little bit, especially on higher keys. The timer on mythic plus is horrible. It encourages people to rage and leave dungeons early. That’s after waiting 30 minutes to make the group. It just feels horrible. I understand that if you have a group that you regularly play with this is not an issue. That is not all of the player base. I would argue that it’s the minority of the player base even.

I still don’t understand the crest system or m+. My character is ilvl 609. I looked up what m+ to do to upgrade my gear and it said +7 and 8 drop 610. I tried doing a +6 which drops lower ilvl gear than any of my slots and was taking obscene amounts of damage as a tank. What am I doing wrong?

You’re tanking, you chose one of the hardmodes, 609 is enough to do 10s though. It depends on the class you’re tanking with and not every dungeon hits equally hard

Can they add some kind of catch up to raid too or at least make delve crest droprates not shit from a butt? i don't really want to "have" to grind M+ to do anything on an alt

Iv bin thinking, whats xalatath's REAL goal? She spends a lot of time pissing of the windrunner, filling up her amulet with more power, that got fractured and Xalatath is the only pure void person thingy whatever the hell she is. And do fracturing the amulet actually change anything what so ever? Because im not so sure it really changes anything. And if all that void energy dident go into her where did it go to? We sat it collapse in and that makes me belive it went into xalatath.

i wouldnt say these a "huge" changes, they increased rewards for win/lose yeah nice but.. key still goes down if you dont time ridiculously long runs back if you wipe tank busting moves every 12s for most the dungeons the interrupt change they made Seems they done the absolute bare minimum now they losing subs again.

This will change close to nothing. Runnning an 8 is so ridiculously much faster and easier (not to mention risk free if you take PuGs and depletion into consideration) than a 12, that farming crests at lowerst level possible will still far outweight the time and efford invested. Don't get me wrong, it's a step in the right direction, but the system needs to fundamentally change, not just get tweaked.

Weathered crests, unlike the others, can now be farmed without limit. So of course people (especially those not doing M+) will farm them to get gilded.

Foundational changes? This was easiest and laziest change they could have made. It doesn't fix M+ main issues. So long as you have the Key depletion and the timer system people will still choose meta specs. The gearing system is still unnecessarily complicated and tedious for a set of gear that you will replace 4-5 month later when the next season hits. Not to mention that they know there is an issue with a lack of tanks and healers and have done nothing to fix it.

I don’t see how this is supposed to bring anybody back into mythic plus that left. This only affects the people who are good enough to get myth geared anyway… in which case they weren’t having any struggles with mythic plus. Their struggles are actually just copes for the fact that nobody’s playing except the most toxic people.

Yes you can after you have every slot equipped with a certain item level, 593, 606 and 619. At each of these items levels you get to trade up the different levels of crests.

Maybe they should stop downgrading the keystone level for people who actually completed the key but overtime.. it would further encourage us to finish the damn thing for the people who don’t really care about the gearing but wanted to push but the pug team just sucks.

do people really farm +8? Maybe mainly on alts? I do my 8 +10s a week and havent touched anything under a 10 unless its to push up a keystone, since i broke into 10s.
