I think the argument is valid due to the subscription based model and paid expansions. Even free to play games know they can’t sell pay to win items or in game features without complaints from their respective communities and thus keep things purely cosmetic. We pay up to $15 a month and $50 for an expansion so we can have access to the content in the game, and then they put in game features behind a $90 cash paywall… sure you could farm 6+ wow tokens, but let’s get real, the vast majority of players are never going to do that. They don’t have the time. So this is blizzard asking $90 for a quality of life feature in a game we already pay a considerable amount to play, if you don’t have time to play like it’s a full time job. Even if you farm for game time you’re still shelling out for the expansion. Double the expansion for a dino with paywalled QoL feels scummy and bad faith.

Just a heads up , WOW in China is a totally different style of game, it Depends on Microtransactions , play over there is a different . Plus China Owns WOW in China ( so they can control the content) . Blizz just gets a dividend.

In complete honesty, while insane, a $265 cosmetic mount isn't as big of a deal to me as locking QoL features behind a $90 paywall. The Brutosaur is the ONLY way to access an AH and Mailbox in instances, and Blizz locked it behind a paywall. The tiger is just a pretty flying mount, but in effect is identical to every other flying mount in the game.

@@kaorumugen991 Warband bank can only be used with a timer between each..and then you still have to withdraw from it in order to sell anything in a city that has an auction house. Auction houses are limited in location and expansions so the 90 bucks mount is worth it. Stuff that I would sell to vendor npcs just to clear my bags...I can pop on the auction house and never miss a beat. When you look at cost of buying wow tokens and selling them on auction house in order to get enough gold to buy the original brontosaurus - turns out to be like 500 bucks..so 90 is a steal in comparison.

@@matthewbennett311 still have the stacking damage each key level, but transfer the extra challenge to optional achievements with their own unique rewards, could be cosmetic, could be a stack of crests etc. Achieves could be completion time related, additional hard mode related (think Ulduar hardmodes). I think the devs at blizzard could come up with something workable if they put their minds to it.

You are also forgetting the desync caused in patch 11.5, multiple of my guildies have had the same issues, you avoid the aoe and still get hit by it, or it simply doesn't appear and you die. Timer should stay, or people will wait for bl for every boss. But depleting keys should go. If you get stuck at for example 10, you go to npc and drop it to 9. If run goes over time, it does not give score and drop less loot or at lower ilvl.

They did massive changes to Dark ranger for hunters, but left in a bug that pulls mobs that arent in combat, making it utterly unplayable in M+. This bugs been known since PTR went out and still hasnt been fixed. Ive switched mains because of it

I understand why they made the "War Within Season 1" heroic thing, but you should be able to do all of the War Within Dungeons in Heroic and Mythic.

Mythic plus and tougher difficulty keys are about pushing your class to the limit. A tight timer is an integral part of that. You have to play the dungeon probably AND efficiently. Removing the timer, or making it negligible will kill the concept of mythic plus, in the name of accessibility. And be a total L for the game. The real issue with m+ is the design switch to where every single ability is a oneshot mechanic. And with inexplicable party wide damage on old dungeons that hasn’t adapted to a new design where healing is not as capable, leading to an unenjoyable experience. That and swirlies and other effects that are the same color of the floor.

Demonology damage isnt terrible overall, but ramp up takes forever and any interruptions to tyrant setup break the rotation completely and ruin the rest of the fight. Plus having vile fiend, grimoire, and dogs on 3 gcd's feels horrible. Giving back guaranteed dog cores was a move in the right direction, but not enough. Aff has its place, its not terrible either, if anything hellcaller will be even better in + keys. Unfortunately destro being the mobility king will still pigeon hole most warlocks into that spec... my least favourite spec.

The toxicity in M+ is not nearly as bad as folks claim. I pug about 2-3 hours a night as a tank since the start of the season and I’ve had about 5 bad interactions out of 100+ dungeons. I make sure to encourage folks and compliment them when they’re doing a good job. There are a lot of great people out there doing M+ and they don’t get enough credit for making this environment less toxic.

the 20th anniversary event was soooo bad with nothing meaningful to do so Blizzard added the boosted token quests to the Khaz Algar zone via the weekly quest. That's how DOA the 20th anniversary is and that's just how lazy Blizzard is. BUT Blizzard can design a nice looking mount with added good quality of life mount due to attached AH and mail box and charge a price that costs more than the base game + a 1 month sub.

For people who don't understand how it is Blizzards fault first and players fault second, I will give you an analogy. *One developer creates a skill based game and promises never to sell microtransaction items, fill the player base with gamers who like that concept. *Second developer creates a mobile microtransaction based game for people who like to spend money and buy everything, all those kinds of players flock to that game. Now if the first developer suddenly changes their no microtransaction game into a mobile type game and starts selling stuff which brings in people who just buy everything with money and rewards them, while the original player base all start leaving the game, then who is at fault? Now all those people who loved their game start seeing a new type of player base, people who mindlessly pay for anything from the store, people who even pay for boosts in dungeons and raids instead of doing it themselves. There is even a dedicated "services" channel now in the game for people to buy boosts. You start seeing almost only store bought mounts in major cities and people wearing the best gear bought boosts to get them. Suddenly you realize all your friends who used to play this game have quit or start quitting, while people who buy these store mounts run around calling others "poor" and they haven't even gotten their gear by their own skill. Who is at fault?

It’s easy to mix up Mythic+ difficulty expectations, especially when it comes to pugging higher levels like a +10. You're absolutely right that attempting a +10 without the rating or gear is a tough challenge and that's intentional. Mythic+ is designed to be demanding, rewarding players with top-tier gear equivalent to Mythic raids. It’s meant to encourage guild or community play rather than relying solely on pugs. They buffed all of the war within event currency drastically but kept the anniversary quests the same. Idk why they're trying to push people to play their new expansion. paying a sub should be plenty. You'd think they would buff the anniversary event to make you focus on the.....event, not your wow chores. I find it so confusing, but hey, who cares what we the consumers think. To put into perspective, without owning the war within, it will take 6 weeks to reach 100 coins so that im able to grind the currency, and by that time no one would be doing the event anymore. I feel like most people are being critical of Blizzard rather than the consumers. You can’t blame a consumer for making a choice to buy and available product, but you can ask why Blizzard is paywalling QoL features for $90 and adding these store mounts to classic along with WoW tokens when Classic sort of only existed as a place to get away from these things. I’m okay with them selling cosmetics in retail and I wouldn’t really care if they were hundreds of dollars, I just wouldn’t buy them. But adding features to these items seems a conscious decision to drive sales through FOMO in a game we already pay a lot of money to play compared to other MMOs and online games. Even F2P games usually respect their communities enough not to paywall in game features. Maybe blizzard needs to drop paid subscriptions and expansions if they want to milk the player base like this forever, because paying that much just to be promoted to pull out your wallet and pay 2x what you paid for the expansion again for a QoL feature is wild. It’s that player experience delivered from blizzard that many people don’t enjoy, but I’m not judging anybody who makes the purchase. It’s undeniably an incredible QoL feature. F2P would open the waters for more whales and more sales if that’s what they want to focus on rather than creating a positive player experience

Idk why normie players are even able to have a say in what happens in M+. M+ is made for high level gameplay, if you can't time a +5 it's a skill issue. Not everyone should have access to high end gameplay rewards if you don't put the time in to be able to do so without putting everyone else in the group behind.

That is not a Blizzard problem, that is a Netease problem and ultimately a Chinese video game player problem. Netease takes advantage of their players because people buy them. You mention Diablo Immortal, which suffers the same problem. That is a Chinese game for a Chinese market. It just happened to also release in the west, where it doesn't make much money.

@@candulimataoo2852 No they came up with the timer thing, because they needed something equally as challenging as a mythic raid if they wanted to offer the same reward. However right now M+10 and above are absolutely comparable to mythic raid difficulty. You have the same unforgiving one-shot mechanics since just about everything can kill you instantly if you make a mistake. Keeping the timer adds nothing at this point, it only punishes the key-giver and causes all the shitty behaviour we see. Keep the difficulty as is and remove the timer. Give people time to strategize instead of barreling down the same route down to the exact mob required to fill a crappy bar in an equally crappy timed rush. Let's face it unless you are properly geared and have learned to play the mechanics correctly, your group will not finish the key no matter how many trys you have.

@@mrfluffyhedgehog Not true, I finished a +13 out of time, still got the loot, every person playing m+ that has a brain will learn mechanics eventually, remove the timer and what do you get, a 5 man raid going high enough. Guys, deal with it, if you cant time a +10 then you are not good enough, play more, gear up like the rest of us and keep pushing, timer is the whole point of mythic plus. If you dont like it well dont play it then, just dont shittalk something good that others enjoy, there is plenty of other content in wow for casual players do that instead of mythic plus. Strategize what my dude? The expansion is out for 2 months, you should know the mechanics and you can make a strategy what you will pull, how you will play the key before you start it, or try out different tactics on a +10 for example (lower if 10 is high for you) and then try to finish a high key with it.... I have 2 characters this expac on 2700 rio, third is incomming, its not hard and it doesent need nerfs or changes. Something being hard doesent make it bad, you just need to get better and overcome it... All in all, why does the timer bother you? If you have a tank/heal friend you can practically 3man the dungeon and time it all up to +10 if everyone else leaves... Its actually too easy and should be made harder. Rewards max out on +10, which most people can and will complete, you dont even have to time it to get the reward lmao, then reach 10 and stop pushing further if you find it hard.

I hate to break it to you but the timer will never be removed. Firstly it was added so that Blizz can make more esports out of WoW. Secondly now that they have China back they don't give a fuk about you anymore, either you get better or don't play M+ your call. Sorry if that last part makes me sound Elitist, that wasn't my intent I was just stating facts. All I'm saying is M+ I doubt will change so it's either get better or don't do it. Also even if they remove the timer it won't make players less toxic.

It's crazy to see these prices when we already pay monthly to play and on top of that paying for expansions whenever they come out. Im proud to say that i am not one of the idiots playing a 20 year old game and still paying for it........... because i found out about Ascension!!!! the FREE TO PLAY world of warcraft that i personally find to be WAAAAAY more fun than the official WoW!!! and if you want to help them keeping things going you can CHOOSE to donate and support the devs. and once you start playing you wont hesitate to do so!! plus you can a ONE TIME fee and unlock other realms that are PTR's and have all sorts of different play style. think of SOD on steroids!!!!!!!! my favorite is the PTR that allows you to play classic wow but the only change is you can mix and match all roles and talents amongst all the different races of characters!!!!! truly there is NO REASON anyone should be paying to play WoW these days if they don't want to!!!!!!!! oh and yes you can get your mods like bagon and bartender and my personal favorite Vuhdu the healing bars. there might not be as many of the more obscure less popular ones but all the main staples are there like weak auras and so on.
