Rare Blizzard W. Warcraft 3 was awesome back in the day, but that reforge was a shitshow and a shame that they replaced the original with reforge 1.

Sooo sad we lost the OG campaign menu, it was a masterpiece, so sad in a perspective of art preservation.

Like you said hopefully there will be more steps in right direction i really want to go back to warcraft but i did not want to buy reforge so i gave up from game as i also lost old cd key original warcraft 3

Everyone whines about ai-upscaled textures, but no one seems to understand just how many textures are in modern games. Everyone jokes about "small indie company," but everyone whines when work gets outsourced to other artists to get the work done in the amount of time it takes to avoid everyone complaining about "troubling delays." I'm a modder (not of WC3/R but of WoW) watching this play out in a sea of no-win situations and honestly, I feel for the people who get stuck with the work and the beratement no matter what they do. I'm seeing gamers complain about ai-uprezzed icons and how terrible they look, even though these icons are never displayed more than an inch square. Not to mention outright fake rage-bait screenshots on social media that I can look at for about five seconds, see that the ground texture doesn't repeat, and point out as a screenshot that's been run through some phone app ai filter. Bugs can be fixed and it looks like that's what they're going to work on next. Game looks neat, thanks for the video. Maybe I'll pick it up and finally play WC3 again.

I miss this era of video games. Patches fit on a floppy lol. Back in the day this was my first true jump into multiplayer online, and who could forget DotA. Can you still play DotA and the old great tower defense maps on reforge?

Tbh, I'm waiting for a sale off to buy the Battle Chest (since WC3 Reforged standalone cannot be bought separately). I really want to play a more updated version of WC3 just out of curiosity =D Hopefully around Christmass.

Seeing the old models again, I now realize that the hate towards reforged may have been overblown. Yeesh, this game did not age well.

Yes and no. They old models are very outdated but the new ones: Bad portraits, questionable decisions etc.

warcraft reforged still crashes dota 1 community servers to this day. it used to crash other games as well, it was really in bad state, probably is still today, I will have to try it in few days when I download it, just to see.

The main issue was the performance and something that at the time made me drop it.

PS: Also it crashes very easily by itself, even on alt-tabbing while other games wouldnt do that.

Does reforged even have a multiplayer community? I thought it was dead but if people are actually playing multiplayer, I'll give this a second look. It's still a shame just how much was promised and remains missing. They still have a way to go to make it right.

Make your own game. You have all the tools at your disposal, so go do it.

@@NetherStray Stupid answer. I am an illustrator, I could create great icons, graphics etc that would fit the old graphics style. But they won't ever ask anyone like me, because they don't want to pay the money.

I recommend to turn off the foliage option. There's a good reason its turned off by default

@@Costin_Gaming Ofc, it's a matter of preference. If you compared the options yourself and chose based on that, there's obviously no issue. I just think it's a case of "less is more."
