One of our baby piggies, Rusty (About 2 1/2 months old) has bloat and we've taken it into our own hands, massaging his belly and giving him loads of hay and water. Our other 9 piggies have been very supportive of him and have cuddled him and got him through a tough few days. Thankfully he's almost back to normal!! This video really help :D

Thank you so much for sharing this. My guinea pig went to the vet yesterday as an emergency because he wasn't eating and the vet placed him on antibiotics, and some other unrelated stuff. After taking him home I noticed he wasn't pooing at all. I followed what you said and first thing this morning I went and got this same med. We don't have that brand where I live but I found another brand with the same medical ingredients. He has started pooing again and he's eating on his own now. I also did the vibrating thing with him on my legs and I could hear gas moving around. Thanks again for sharing this info.

I had a guinea pig a few years ago who was bloaty quite often. I used Infacol and also found a warm pillow and tommy massage helped. Never even thought about a massaging pillow. Will keep that in mind. Anyway after talking to my vet I changed back to my regular dried food and she was fine.

my Molly passes away today she had to get put to sleep.. She had GI stasis and the vet told me she can do all she can but her coming out of it is 50/50 and since she's already so bad she probably won't make it and she was hurting. I had to make the dad choice to put her down and it's heartbreaking. I grew really attached to her and loved waking up to her every morning. I have another gueina pig but ibwill find her a new home as I'm too heartbroken to care for another and she needs playmates. GI stasis is a very deadly thing for gueina pigs sadly and any change in diet or stress can being it on and it gets worse before it gets better if you front notice it right away😔😢😭

Simethicone drops are in several brands, often described as "Infant Gas Relief Drops." They seem to help with gas in the stomach or intestines. If a piggie is not pooping, there may be an intestinal blockage that calls for veterinary treatment.

okay i know this is an old video but i had to make an emergency trip to the store to get some gas drops for one of my piggies but i gave him the full infant dose and then i let him exercise on the floor and then i massaged his tummy for a couple mins and he’s acting better - do you think the higher dose is dangerous???

I use 1-2mls at a time, I go beyond the baby dose. It is not absorbed into their bodies, just passes through to break up gas bubbles.

I noticed a few smaller poops in my cage today but in the large cage is 5 guinea pigs. I dont know which one may have done them there wasn't many tho . I picked them all up and there tummys not too hard but there has been maybe less poops ? there all eating and drink normally i think well im sure really. What should i do ? Help me ? thank you X

Eating too much isn't a thing for Guinea pigs. If she is not acting normal have her checked at the vet.

You can give 1 to 2 MLS every 2 hours. Plus medical help from your vet for hydration, pain meds and motility meds.

skinnypigs1 great, thank you! My piggy is still eating, drinking and active, but I can absolutely tell she is bloated because the size of her poops and the shape of them- and she isn’t going AS much. I’ve been giving her the little tummy medicine, and I have seen a bit of improvement within the last 6 hours or so. Do you know if it’s normal to hear/ feel the gurgling sound coming from her tummy? Does that mean the gas and bloat is moving around and trying to make its way out?

Can I get your opinion on this? I just purchased 2 baby Guinea pigs on Saturday. Yesterday I noticed one of the pigs had been sneezing and not acting right. I also saw right away that she had gunk in her eyes. I immediately thought URI, so I took her to the vet this morning. They gave her a prescription for baytril and to give her 0.1 ml a day with a syringe. I did some googling, and some people have mixed feelings about giving baby Guinea pigs baytril, and that it can stunt their growth. I want what is best for her and I certainly want her to start feeling better. Have you ever heard of or had any experience with this?

I know this video is older, but I just came across it a few weeks back and I just got the little remedies for my guinea pig who has bloat. Hers is similar to yours. She still eats and poops, but the poop is coming out weird and her stomach makes weird sounds. Also the bloated belly of course. My question is if the first two doses don’t work, should I give her more every four to five hours?

+skinnypigs1 my Guinea pig went to the vet for about 1 week because her sister had a URI and she went to get checked up too. When she got back she looked more rounded like usual. Her poops are really tiny and they are not that dark. It's like a cardboard color. I'm not sure if she's bloated or not she still eats + drinks normally

This is a old video it seems.. but another note I noticed one of my piggies was not eating that much and her poo was small and dry looking and less. So I figured maybe gas so I went out a got this a tried it so far we wait. I noticed when I feed lettuce she seems to love it but she gets gas from it. It's the weekend and vets are closed by me and I'm hoping she gets better or starts pooping more. 😔

Stop veggies, give 1-2mls of gas drops every few hours, tummy massages and hand feed her if she is not eating well. You can use her pellets mashed into water and syringe it.

My piggie is still not pooping normally.. She did give me one good normal poo this morning but the rest still look small and dry. I have been pushing fluids down and mashed pellets with warm water with syringe in her and using gas drops evry few hrs..She eats her hay a bit and drinks her water a bit but not enough. The pooping has me worried she should be pooping alot more then she has been. Tomorrow is Monday thank God and vets it is if she's not better by tomorrow.

It is complicated but if u go on google search type in housing a guinea pig with a bunny well his parents were in a petstore were they put guinea pigs and bunnys together and so his dad waz a guinea pig his mom waz a bunny its rare to have half bunny half guinea pig so thats how he is that way hes really neat and can hop really but also has guinea pig features and bunny features. He is super sweet and I love him. And I found in a petstore for 16$ he waz there for a year because he waz unwanted.

I read that Simethicone is bad because the gas is gathered in a big gas ball. But then you andother youtubers say they are actually good andit seemed it worked. Mine is on antibiotics right now and she's gassy.

Hello, My name is Darby and I have two large Cornet guinea pigs that have bloat atleast I think I flick the side of their stomach and it sounds hollow but they have eaten and drank a lot of water and still poop. I noticed I have been giving them a lot of greens as well as carrots (2 a day) so I was wondering if you could help me seeing as I currently do not have the money to take them to the vet. Also I bought equate infant gas relief because the two wal marts I went to were out, is that fine? I gave them both some and I've haven't had them fart, burp anything. I am just worried..
